As a "Setubalense" (born in Setúbal and lived here my whole life) I welcome you and I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay! I like to call it a "big village" because although it is a city (and a "main" one), people here are really sweet and homy :)

Hello Sofia! Thank you for taking the time to comment. We totally agree with Setúbal being like a big village... it's such a wonderful place but so low key with it! I'd return tomorrow, especially as I'm working through hours of footage to make at least 4-5 more videos, and it just makes me want to be back there! We love Setúbal! ~ Mandy

Hi Sofia, Appreciate the welcome and sharing the space with the world. Me and my wife recently returned from Portugal. We passed through Setubal while riding the bus going south. I can see why you are proud of the "big villiage". Beautiful place with incredible views. We plan to return and retire in Portugal, and Setubal is high on our list, we also love Setubal! Cheers!

@@FrugalTravellers You must make it to the Azores one day. They are so beautiful! I have been there on four trips for a total of 9 weeks. I suggest going in June or July because the hydrangeas that are all over the islands are in bloom then and it is incredibly beautiful along with all the lush green landscape. You will need to rent a car to get around and make the most of your trip. Plan early and you can get really good prices. The cost of living is low there too.

Hi Mandy and Lee. I generally watch your videos on the big screen and rewatch them on the computer so I can make notes and comments! Love your videos. As I said previously I had written Setubal off but now it is firmly on my list. Love the flower boxes. Are they real plants or fake? We would love housesit pets as we are animals lovers. Now that we no longer have pets of our own, we provide "day care" and "holidays" for the next door neighbour's cat who prefers to stay with us! Thanks for providing the correct pronunciation for Setubal. I know Lee has hollow legs, but one of those dishes would do both of us!

Hi Christine. Thanks for watching and we're so glad you can enjoy them on the big screen. Since we started using the GoPro the quality of the video for big screen is much better. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Setúbal which shows on the videos I think. It was a lovely surprise for us. We're so fortunate we got a house sit there as we probably wouldn't have chosen to go there otherwise. It's a pleasure to share these places and encourage others to visit the places we find and enjoy. Thanks for your support. We really appreciate it. 🙏😊 ~ L&M

Before you mentioned it I was admiring the tiled/cobbled floor in the square in the opening scene and then seeing it flow through the smaller streets. Hello Mark. Thank you so much for taking the time to share this excellent observation about the calçadas and the buildings in the Old Town. We love the calçada pavements, which are found throughout the country. They have been among the many lovely and hitherto unknown features of Portugal for us, as well as the excellent & inexpensive wine; the delicious dishes, and the fact that so many Portuguese speak fluent English. The landscape and weather differ greatly from the north, central and south, but something all regions have in common is the lovely laidback atmosphere. This is an amazing country and I still can't believe it took us so long to visit. We can highly recommend it if you haven't been already. ~ Mandy

@@Nadelina_kb We love your channel, and your latest Setúbal videos are next level when it comes to editing, quality and useful information! We watch them and point out all the excellent features that we wish we knew how to do 😃😁 We're backpackers first and foremost, and our skills aren't in being creative but in travelling on a low budget, which is why we stick to a simple style with our videos 🤣 There's another reason why we love your videos. It's because you travel to so many different places by car, which opens up so many fascinating sights that we might struggle to get to, but that we (and hopefully our viewers) would like to see! And also, you are a genuinely lovely person and we were so happy to meet you! ~ Mandy

That's so interesting! When I searched online, half the recipes had Brazilian in the title but the others didn't. This restaurant has a Portuguese and a Brazilian owner, hence the name. I have to say that it was a delicious dessert! 😁😃 ~ Mandy

Hello! Thank you for your question. Unfortunately we didn't take any photos or footage from estate agent windows so aren't sure of exact prices. I know Setúbal is a lot cheaper than Lisboa and apartments can be found for under €800 per month, but I don't think they'd be in the centre, more likely the suburbs. ~ Mandy
