Rural Letter Carrier from NJ here. Attended the convention and looked around for you when I had a chance but didn't see you. Still got to play some 0-2. Even rented a scooter and didn't break my neck! Thanks for the content.

A couple of days ago, here in Dallas at Texas Card House, I'm on 2/5 NLH, down $900 for the day. I get A,Q off, the board comes 9s, 6d, As. After some bets, me and 2 other larger stacks are in the hand. Turn is a Qs. So there are 3 spades on the board. First guy rips it all in, second guy calls the all in, I look at my 2 pair, pray to the Poker gods, and say, "Go big or go home". I call. They ask to run it twice. I'm ok with it. #1 has K,J of spades for the flush (if the flopped 9 was a 10 he gets a Royal), the 2nd guy has 6,6. So we run the River twice. First river: Q. Second river is a Q !! I get a Q on both rivers.....So QQQAA wins the Main Pot, and 666QQ wins the side pot.....Crazy !

Ben - not exactly how it went bud! I was that guy LOL w 49 vs AA! I had no idea what you had preflop. You made it $80 pre and told the guy behind you it was Jerry Rice! One other guy called you and so I looked down at 49er(off suit) thought it was serendipitous so I said fuck it I'll call see a cheap flop and as a lifetime Niner fan it might make for a good story. This was a small game so losing a $1000 to you or I isn't a big deal. When I flopped 2 pair I was first to act I checked you made it $150 I jammed. You said well you probably got me but I call. Which of course I did. I immediately said yeah I have 2 pair I know you have aces. You flipped em over and I got counterfeit on the river. It's all good brother. I've been watching you for years! Just want you to describe the hand accurately 😅I would shaken your hand but you left immediately after the hand! Catch up next time - good luck on the felt!!

Speaking of unnecessary sequels, Jarhead 2 (and arguably the Jarhead sequels in general) can be added to the list--especially when you grow to understand the whole point of the original film in the first place. Been catching up with your Vlogs after missing the last few--great to see you still going strong after how earlier this year went!

I do not like the slow play of the AA on that board. Here's why: while it's true that your opponent isn't going to have much to call a bet, you're really hoping they pick something up to call with on the turn. The problem is that no over-card can come since you have a set of aces. So realistically you're looking only for your opponent to pick up a straight or flush draw on the turn. Them hitting a pair or even 2 pair isn't likely that they'll put a bunch of money in since they won't likely have aces up. They may call a reasonable bet on the turn; but they're never putting money in on the river unless they make their hand. Which means you lose. You may as well just bet and hope they flopped a set.

I think maybe your river raise could have been a touch bigger in the set over set hand, but from the background you gave on this guy, sounds like he would have folded to a 400+ bet at the end. From the background you gave it seems to me that you very nearly got the maximum, maybe left 100-150 on the table max.

I never show my hand first unless of course I’m the better and was called. If I call and you don’t want to show them they can just muck then I’ll show. Always played this way and always will. I paid to see the cards so show them or muck them.

The question is not if you didnt get max value with AA, the question is would you have folded the river if he ended up pushing all in on the river with his set? Because nothing you did indicated you had top set.

Golf: The reason the leader boards look similar these days is because as the season winds down, only the top 70, then top 30 players are invited to the tournaments. Also, literally nobody who is a real fan of Tiger Woods says 'el tigre' anymore when talking about him...

There's not much you can do with the set of aces. You bet on the flop, and he hasn't got anything he folds. You gotta let him catch up a bit. Even though we know he had the losing hand, he played the flopped set badly..
