@@GergPerson I have an artist commissioned to create me a cute lil thing like this, mine is similar to the fox but my cat doesn't talk she just sits there and as I talk she wags her tail / ticks her ears, and does different animations and has changeable emotions. What do you think is the best way for my artist to approach that, using this style, how many files should they make, -- originally they were commisioned for about 10 differnet pictures which I would have to swap between, then I found your video and it just made sense, that I should 100% try your method because I love it so much more, I want her animation to be smooth and feel unique, and not like it's on a loop all the time, how do you think I'd best acheive this? Her mouth doesn't move because she's not meant to be a furry or anything like that, just a lil kitty playing on a keyboard and mouse, similar to your lil fox

can you please do a video breaking down the fox and what pictures you use for it, my artist is doing something similar but with a cat and we are trying to understand how you have so much animation going on, while also having emotions -- is there a way to Toggle different emotions so that it's not a static image the whole time with a moving mouth?

There’s a lot of animation on the fox but the trade off is you can’t control the emotions. The only thing you can trigger on the fox is the mouth when you talk, the emotions are “hard coded”, meaning they are part of the animation loop, they’re not triggered.

thank you so much for this tutorial, this is exactly what i was looking for!! i got everything set up almost perfectly with this. the only issue im having is when going between the mouths, i feel like it tends to swap between them really fast sometimes even with the threshold being fairly low. is there a way to make the open mouth last for a second before it disables?

Glad it helped. You should be able to fix that with the Easing setting

Ive tried your tutorial for the more complex version where the mouth is also an animation, but from time to time at random it desyncs from the main animation. I reset them like you show in the video, but it happens again after a while. Im thinking it might be because of missed/skipped frames in OBS but im not sure. Have you experienced this? :O

I have, when the main animation and the mouth animation are different lengths. Even if it's just 1 frame off it desyncs. Make sure theyre the exact same length

No I haven't opened Character Animator in a long time now. I realized I enjoy animating motion/movement and I don't like the puppet/rig style of Character Animator

Not that I know of. The move transition is necessary, and I don’t think they have it on SLOBS
