Seattle and Las Vegas. It's as simple as that. The people in Mexico City cannot pay for the ticket. They cannot support an NBA team. Owners are losing money because these huge markets in Seattle and Las Vegas do not have NBA teams. That's the bottom line.

Was once an avid NBA fan, however - I haven't viewed a single NBA game since 2009 due to the method that the Sonics were essentially stolen from this city, and will continue my boycott until this is satisfactorily rectified! Throw in the fact, the NBA is essentially flag football now anyway, it isn't worth the time to watch.

A Vegas team would largely be made up of crowds from out-of-town, most likely drawing vacationers from the town of the visiting team. Will that be enough to sustain a team long term?

I've only watched a few big moments of the NBA since the sonics left. I miss it so much. Basketball and the sonics meant so much to me. I can't believe it. A bit embarrassed of my pettiness but they were my childhood.

There are already too many crap teams in the NBA, they do not need more teams. Not enough talent. But Seattle should be in line for the next team that folds/moves

For me, the Sonics taking so long to return wouldn't be as grotesquely embarrassing of a problem for the NBA *IF* they hadn't only taken a couple years to bring the Hornets back to Charlotte after the original team moved to New Orleans. Really, they let CHARLOTTE get their team back, which had never even made it to a freaking Conference Finals (they still haven't lol), while it has been 16 years since the 1979 NBA Champion Seattle SuperSonics moved to OKC to become the "Thunder." So, NOLA and Charlotte get teams, but only OKC and not the Emerald City? Priorities, what are those?! Bullshit!

I think Seattle doesn't want the Sonics to return soon because it will completely obliterate the Storm's revenue... All attention and money will be on the Sonics... I really think the Seattle Storm has something to do with the Sonics not coming back sooner than later, if at all... SMH

They're going to skip Seattle and force Seattle to move a team, just like LA in the NFL. Seattle is the stick to threaten failing teams or teams that need arenas. That is far more valuable for the NBA.

Windhorst doesn't know anymore than we do. He is a LeBron beat writer. Seattle and Vegas are getting the expansion teams. Seattle is the only top 15 market without a team at number 11. Sonics tickets will be some of the most expensive in the NBA. Laughable to think they aren't picking Seattle. Literally sounds stupid to think otherwise if you have any clue about business. The kraken owner is very close to Adam silver and climate pledge was built with NBA requirements as the priority. The only thing slowing it up is the NBA doesn't want to dilute the talent and add 2 g league caliber teams
