Magic Seth

12 жыл бұрын

At the MIT Media Lab in April 2008, Hi-Tech Magician Seth Raphael (magicseth.com/) challenged James Randi (randi.org/), claiming his computer can read minds. Randi accepted the challenge and then watched as Seth's computer succeeded in passing all of his tests. Witness Randi handing Seth the first good faith check for $10,000. Seth performs all of these miracles in live shows for companies across the world.

Fun fact if everybody switched our smart tech off and refused to switch it back on until our demands were met , the virtual crippling of their big data economy and digital infrastructure would bring the cabal to their knees . It's all about big data , data collection is worth more than oil , the future is gene therapy doing away with millenia of medicine the jabbing will never stop , but they couldnt achieve it if everybody refused their tech , hell even just for a day or a week even switch it off when you go to bed would be a start ,we hold all the cards.

I met James Randi at the Flamingo in Las Vegas in 2019 while he was having coffee with Penn Jillette. My daughter had spied Penn at the small lobby cafe we were in line at and pointed him out. I immediately recognized the old gray-haired man he was with. Penn had just wheeled him by in a wheelchair to the patio of the cafe. I saw a lull in their conversation and got the courage to introduce myself to them both. While Penn excused himself to get the coffee, I got to chat with James a bit and expressed my enjoyment of his debunking videos. He was a very gracious and soft spoken man. I didn’t visit but more than a couple minutes, as I didn’t want to intrude on the two close friends time together. Later that night, at the meet and greet after the Penn & Teller show, I reminded Penn that I had met him and James earlier that morning. He said he remembered, and that James appreciated me talking to him about his debunking stuff and that it meant a lot to him. That’s my story of meeting James Randi and Penn together.

James Randi was a friend of mine, and I know a lot of people rightly claim that honor, but I will never forget how generous he was to me and how, in some inexplicable way, I always felt better knowing he was around, doing what he did best for the betterment of all. Having passed away almost exactly one year ago, I feel a void and an uncertainty about the future of science in this chaotic, profoundly, ignorant, violence-prone country because we have lost one of our greatest champions of science, truth and education. All that considered, James Randi and his remarkable life’s work, indeed, left us in a better place than we could have ever achieved without him. RIP old bean.

Back then he was a balding, grey-bearded and bespectacled man. He already looked older than many his age. People in their 50s also tend to dress differently in their 80s, but not Randi. That's why his age progression is less dramatic than most people's.

Still angry, James should know better. April fool's day pranks is hardly something he should be encouraging in a skeptical educational foundation, and on top of that this muddles the integrity of JREF... How many people only read the title, or didn't watch the final 10secs? There's bound to be people who now think there's been at least one winner ergo supernatural may be real after all. It even sounds like a breakthrough when the guy said, "I won't be needing your million dollars (just your admission will make me 100x that.)" Very disappointed personally.

This just popped on my feed...as a software engineer, I watched it while reverse engineering it in my mind. Interestingly enough, you can reproduce the first two tricks with some clever software. First one you could use the webcam with CV to identify the time the eyes focus on a specific card while showing the deck. Then start narrowing down and presenting in different orders to increase accuracy. The second one you could tap into the OS's screen reader (or the webpage html code itself), save the metadata content of the flickr image, and have the hard drive (or fan) vibrate in morse-like language that, by touching it, he'd be able to get a general idea of the image contents. As we know, any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic. Really cool prank though! Cheers!

The card trick could simply be that the cards have transmitters embedded in them, RFID chips if you will, and placing one card further away from any of the other cards would single that card out as the one. I mean, look at what they want to do with your phones now. They want everyone 6 feet apart so as to be distinguishable from other people.
