Seth, I love you, man. What good sportsmanship. This guy just owns up to the fact that it wasn't his day and encourages runners who pass him in the second half of the race. Good luck at Pike's Peak (2020) next week! I think you're going to crush it!

The expression you were trying to recall is "no holds barred", a phrase from wrestling meaning all holds are ok to use. Generally used to mean "hold nothing back" or "everything is fair game."

Great race!! I just look at those rocks & my ankle hurts!! How were you able to run that w/o turning an ankle? It was a beautiful place though. Utah also knows how to put on a party too. God bless!!

Hey I was there too! Did this as my first ultra/trail raze and got my ass thoroughly BEAT. Leaving Pacific Mine Aid I started cramping up so bad and had to walk/hike all the way until I reached Tunnel Aid. A lot of learning for me happened that day as well but I finished!

Nathaniel, that’s great that we got to toe the line together. I’m not sure I’ll ever go back. The course is just brutal and really took a toll on me. Thanks for the comment!

Do you have poles for rrr? I used mine in a race once and thought they worked very well. They help keep an even pace on the long extended climbs. I fold them up at the top then attempt to bomb the downhills as much as possible.
@SethJamesDeMoor6 жыл бұрын
Matthew Keeny Yes, I am researching which pair to buy!! What do you have?
@mattkeeny6 жыл бұрын
Seth James DeMoor I have the leki micro trail pro, and they are the best out there. However, the much-cheaper Black diamond carbon poles are quite decent. After I take a year for road running, I’m going for the triple crown of PA ultrarunning along with my first 100 miler.
@SethJamesDeMoor6 жыл бұрын
Matthew Keeny nice, I’ll look up those pairs. I’m really new to the pole scene, but I know it’s necessary. What’s your next road race??
@mattkeeny6 жыл бұрын
Seth James DeMoor the trail race I was gunning for in July got cancelled due to floods. My next race is a trail 50k in October. Then Pittsburgh marathon in May. I’m tired of all these road racers asking what my marathon pr is when I only run ultras! So my goal is a marathon pr.
@SethJamesDeMoor6 жыл бұрын
Matthew Keeny Ha, I’m in the same boat on the lack of marathon PR!! PS - those Leki poles look amazing, wow!

Watching this from 2020, it’s crazy to see how social the world used to be. Will this happen again?
@midway2416 жыл бұрын
That was a dangerous race. I notice some runners had hiking poles.

Midway yes, and oh how I wish I would of had a pair!
