Regarding your idea of blowing the water back into the bladder before drinking; I would suggest that you do that after you finish drinking. Then while you ride, there's air in the exposed line and not water collecting heat. Allowing water in the line to heat up will only warm the water in the bladder when you blow it back in.

CamelBack hack: To prep for your next ride, throw your half full CamelBack bladder in your freezer. First blow air into it and place it with the filler cap on top so you don't freeze the cap on. The morning if your ride, just add water. By the time you reach the trailhead enough of the ice will have melted to allow liquid into the drinking tube. You'll have ice water & you'll be keeping your back cool during the ride. BONUS HACK: After the ride, throw the bladder back in the freezer to prevent slime from growing in it.🤙🏾

Love the hacks. Patches: put glue on both the tube and the bit of old tube you're using for the patch then let dry to tacky and stick together without moving. The patch in the factory is the same material, pre prepared with the glue but hermetically sealed to prevent drying out. You're just replicating the same thing. Cleaning the tube: important. You need to remove any crap and oxydised rubber so you don't stick patch to crap.

Pro-Pro tip (I used to wrench for MountainCycle back in the 90's), use one brush for your drive train, another brush for your tires and another brush for your cleaner parts. Label them or color code them and don't mix them up. It'll make it easier to clean the bike, drive train and tires and get less oil and dirt on the parts that tend to be cleaner. We used to use Lemon Pledge on the bike before races and Pam spray on clipless pedals to shed dirt and mud faster as the race went on. Now there are better products for that but the idea is the same.

You can make a mud guard out of a 2 liter bottle. First you print of a template online, cut the top and bottom off of a 2 liter bottle, then trace the template, cut it out, and a punch holes. I think it is a great idea and I found a milk jug to be a bit stronger!! I hope you can put this in a video!!!!! Love you Seth!!

Speaking of tube punctures, if you have access to a junk car, you can use the seatbelt as a tire liner, or even better a load strap from a semi (you can usually find them tossed when they're frayed or damaged) they're a lot thicker than a seatbelt and would offer a bit more protection. While they won't stope everything, but they will add a bit of puncture resistance to the tire.

Been saying this for years. Even better than dish soap on your bike, bodywash is even better. You can use the cheapest stuff, and it still works great. The reason behind it is that dish soap is designed to break down grease, body wash is not. It is also gentle enough for the skin so it will do a good job getting rid of dirt and grime, but won't do anything to bearing grease. The bonus is that if you're blessed to have bike washes at your trailhead, you can also use it to clean up before you head to the pub for some post ride food and brew. I am not strictly advising against dish soap, but I believe body wash is a better option because it is dual purpose, and gentler on seals and places where grease is the barrier like pivots etc.

Most bike people also work on their bikes more than a couple times a month and replace seals and regrease the bearings...
@joshlarochelle1298
@joshlarochelle1298 5 жыл бұрын
KMCreativeDesign you should grease your bike atleast once a week if you ride it everyday if not twice. So that’s not a problem if you also maintain the bicycle you’re cleaning.

To undo a master link by hand flex it side to side, the way the chain doesn't flex. Gently work it back and forth in small increments until it pops off. If you do it too many times it will fatigue the link but a few times in a punch will be fine.

@ryanmiskin 3 жыл бұрын
I used the shoelace trick to fix my broken chain yesterday. Luckily it broke right next to the masterlink so I was able to ride out. My aglets barely fit through my 12-speed chain and it took me a while to get it undone but it worked. Thanks for the hack! It saved me from having to walk my bike 3 miles.

Pb&j is my favorite trail snack, to keep the bread from getting soggy I put peanut on both slices of bread first then the jelly in the middle this way the peanut butter protects the bread from absorbing the jelly and getting soggy. I don't think your method will be as good taste or texture wise but I'll give it a try!
