My son snapped the brake lever off in a crash so I had to replace it, never done one before and it was my first time ever working on hydraulic disc brakes (big nine 20), this video was valuable info and saved our butts as we installed and bled and couldnt work out why it had no pressure, your video showed us what to do with the syringe that came with the kit so we added more fluid then bled and it was better than ever! Thanks Berm peaks

On shimano brakes you work from the bottom to the top. The funnel is there to contain the old oil and provide an air seal as you fill the system. Thats why they come with the plug stick for the funnel so you can remove it without spilling oil on the floor. Love the video :)

Great demonstration and video, but you missed a couple of important things: - That air bubbles expand when the brake system heats up and causes even worse brake performance. (More noticeable in cars and motorcycles) - Some brake fluids are EXTREMELY corrosive and will eat through paint if not cleaned properly. (Specifically, any DOT rated fluid and some others as well) Keep up the good work and I hope you heal up well! I’ll wave at you as I drive through AVL this weekend.
