This is what Magura says about drugstore mineral oil: What type of oil should I use in my Magura hydraulic brakes? Magura Blood mineral oil is the recommended oil, which is a 10 weight mineral oil. By far, our most common problem we encounter is consumers putting off-the-shelf mineral oil (from a drug store) in their Magura hydraulic brakes. Off-the-shelf mineral oil is normally 30-50 weight which will make the brake very sluggish. In addition, off-the-shelf mineral oil has additives, perfumes and different boiling points, all of which can cause brake failure. USE ONLY MAGURA BLOOD IN YOUR BRAKE SYSTEM. Use of any other fluid besides Magura Blood mineral oil will void your warranty.

If you guys want to try something different try Bionol because the viscosity is even better then Magura or Shimano mineral oil. You also could make salad with it, its biodegradable, boiling point @ 300°C. I use it on not working Shimano M8000 XT brakes where the bite point was wandering around with Shimano Oil. With the Bionol it just worked without wandering. I also use this stuff with my Shigura brakes , Trigura and Magura.. This stuff was made for the newer Trickstuff brakes and they are really impressive.

Don't worry about it. If you like your bike to shine, Actually wax the frame, seat tube, fork lower tubes, hubs, spokes, rims, after a wash with quality carnauba wax like your car. Comes out glossy, and sheds mud real nice. Just don't wax the rotors, grips, shifter levers, brake levers, fork sliders or rear shock tube! And also, automotive interior cleaner/conditioner works a treat for keeping your saddle in good shape and clean. I've found the best all around bike soap to be Johnson and Johnson baby shampoo. Its gentle, cheap and won't strip the lube from your suspension, bottom bracket head tube bearings or chain. Simple green is a de greaser...keep away from shock, fork, and anything with bearings in it.

Move your lock-on grips out beyond the ends of your handlebars if you want to experiment with handlebar width. Note: Don't ride on the trail with this setup as the grips could slide off, break, and you can't use bar end plugs. Only use it to test out different widths to determine what width bar you need.

Please pay attention to the kind of fluid. Is it dot? If is it "dot 4" or more or less like dot 3 or dot 5 it will ruin brakes from inside. Shimano uses mineral oil but car fluid is Dot kind. 'Regular' mineral oil has a very different viscosity compared to the Shimano brake fluid. I tried regular mineral oil once and could never get all the air bubbles out of the brake line. I chalked it up to one of those experiences where you learn that it is usually best to follow the manufacturer's instructions, this is especially true when it comes to safety related maintenance. The large bottle of Shimano branded brake fluid is only US$30 at the LBS. A US$3 bottle of mineral fluid is a false economy.

Watch or watching* :) And don't worry, sometimes I forget it as well, because it's sounds difference as writing :D
@jpnelson76064 жыл бұрын
@@wa__een Hi, actually his sentence is correct as it is, "I am learning English if I watch Seth". He does need to fix his capital letters for the start of a sentence, for the pronoun "I", and for the proper noun "English". The shift in verb tense from present progressive "am learning" to regular present "I watch" is a little strange, but not grammatically incorrect. To say, "I am learning English if I watching Seth" is actually incorrect, as he needs both the form of the verb "to be" (in this case "am") as well as the present participle ("watching") in order to make the present progressive form. Your sentence, "because it's sounds difference as writing" actually has a couple of mistakes. First, "it's" is a contraction for "it is", which does not work here as there is the conjugated verb "sounds" right after it. Second, "difference" is a noun, and in this sentence you would need the adjective "different" to describe how "it" sounds. Your sentence should be, "And don't worry. Sometimes I forget as well, because it sounds different when you write it, compared to when you say it." Another way that a native speaker would say this is, "It sounds different in writing than it does speaking it", or "It sounds different in writing than when you say it out loud." These are both ways that native speakers of American English would say these sentences. I hope this is useful, keep working on your English, and keep watching Seth's awesome videos!
@jpnelson76064 жыл бұрын
Hi! This is a great way to learn English! Seth usually uses very good vocabulary and grammar, his accent is a little New York but not much, and his pronunciation is excellent. I noticed that another viewer commented on your English and I wanted to clarify on some things. First, remember that in English, we capitalize nationalities, so the word "german" should be "German". Second, the third person singular form of regular verbs in the present tense in English require an "s" as an ending ("asks"). Also, it is very important to capitalize the pronoun that we use for ourselves, the word (not letter) "I". We need to capitalize that one all the time. The sentence "I learn English for 3 hours" is a little strange, and might sound better in the present progressive ("I am learning English for three hours"). Finally, you need to fix your capital letters for the start of a sentence, for the pronoun "I", and for the proper nouns "English" and "Seth". You shift your verb tense from present progressive "am learning" to regular present "I watch", which is a little strange, but not grammatically incorrect. It would be a little better to say, "I am learning English if I am watching Seth." A corrected form of your entire post would be: I am a German boy. My mom asks me if I am learning. My answer: I learn English for three hours. My thoughts: I am learning English, if I am watching Seth. I hope that this was helpful, remember those capital letters, ride your bike a lot, and keep watching Seth's videos.

I have done the hack with the baby oil over a year now and i can say it works perfectly. I only tested it with short downhill trail though. It will be interesting to see if it works for you that you ride more. I am a bit sceptical about high temperatures. I don't if it will work well

@ketmax28055 жыл бұрын
It just depends but for the majority of us we prefer hydraulics since they offer more braking power.

Seth you should do a video on wheel size. Fat tires, 27.5+, etc. I ride a 29er.

Just go over the basics, what they mean, what each tire is used for, etc.

@@hydrogen5149 the new sync'r (not the carbon one) is supposed to drop within the next week or two! It's going to be tan, and around the same price point as the last! If they updated the front fork to 110 boost and widened up the rear to accept up to 3.0 I'm buying one instantly, even if you can fit 2.6 on the front and back I would buy it honestly. I'm just a fan of hard tails with a little more cushion for the pushin.

FYI carbon fiber sands REALLY well much like wood so you can feed some 220-1600 grit paper through the slot of that bar and shoe shine motion with it to get it back to almost gloss. Cool idea for Kydex! I work with these materials a lot in knife making.

Love your vids. Waiting for that “Baby Oil” update. I myself use Kroger Brand(grocery store chain through the Southern USA) mineral oil. It is sold as a laxative. It is 99.9% mineral oil. I’ve had zero problems. At $2.19 for a 16 FL OZ/473 mL bottle it is much cheaper than Royal Blood, Shimano, or Formula’s brand. However, my brakes aren’t under warranty and I was willing to go the cheap route.

I am surprised nobody mentioned the Pledge goodness! Been using Pledge as a finish on my bikes after I clean them for years...prevents fading and makes it easier to clean bike on next go around...not to mention it only costs 3.99 lol

Kydex is also used to make knife sheaths. You basically heat it up and than wrap it around the object (knife) you want to make a sheath for. There are numerous videos on KZbin using Kydex.
