Great talk. As normal, shame about the audio. Does anyone from SETI ever check the audio balance ? ? ? Still worth adjusting the volume so you can hear the intro and questions...( should "we" really have to do that ? )

What, if any, protocalls are in place in the event of finding extra terrestrial life? Be it microbial, more developed, or advanced.

It's going to be a frustrating millennium or two once they find a place that almost certainly has life on it but that we can't get to and look at because it is too far away. Space travel at this moment is a completely ludicrous proposition for any number of reasons. If people leave the sci fi distortions for a while and really look at the problems here they will see that it is quite humbling. I guess a small probe can be made to move at close to light speed, or at least Stephen Hawking seemed to have thought so, and possibly somehow transmit data back. But even then it will take such a probe an eternity to get anywhere outside our immediate vicinity. We're looking at some of these stars the way they were in the 19th century here, or even longer ago. And they are still considered nearby stars. Human time scales and proportions do not apply at all.

You know SETI is not funded or in any other way a NASA or Government entity? And even when, are you really suggesting the Government always lies about everything? A little less paranoid behavior might help you homie.
