Those blaming babita needs to understand that she has been disrespected and unloved all her life, affecting her self esteem. People walked all over her her entire life. She finally on her own learnt to become self respecting and dignified. It is natural for her to make sure that the man she is about to start her new life with won’t do the same to her. She wanted to stand up to him to make sure the relationship will be on equal terms. So she made sure he understands that by letting him know that she won’t take disrespect from him. When he did apologize she felt she won and was happy, but that in turn hurt Hanuman Singh’s ego. I think it’s good they are showing this level of depth in the story.
