the compressor is a danfoss/secop copy, the control module on these compressors is actually a 12/24vdc inverter that produces variable-frequency 3-phase ac power to run the motor inside the sealed compressor case. and the coil unit with the fan on it is the condenser, the evaporator coils are inside the cooler box walls. and the fan blows air out, it doesn't suck air in so to clean it the best way would be to open up the end cover like you did, unbolt the fan and move it aside and use a compressed air nozzle to blow air from the outside of the condenser coil to the inside, then blow out the inside of the unit through the end cover access. overall it looks like a very well made unit.

Hello Rick. It's Really Cool that you give another 'in depth' review of one of the Main Items we Nomads Require to be on the road. The More we know about the Different 'Makes & Models' of Any and All the products out there the Better. (yet I feel sometimes there is a condescending remark about Your Expert Review?) This is a tad shallow as Everything You Do, You do for All of Us. Not to worry, 99.99% of us Love and Appreciate Everything on Your Channel. No.1👍🤠✌THX

Sound barrier material can be installed around the cooling unit, the fans, and around the outer part of the cooling fins to quiet the unit. My father use to say, you want the best it's going to be noisy? As far as the inside ,clear caulking in the seams then wipe with wet finger or wet cloth . If you choice not in caulk the alum. Inside place liquid items in 1 gal. Plastic bag for spilling. Great job rick.wheres linda.

@FirstSuiGeneris3 жыл бұрын
_Aloha! Great review on the refrigerator. What I learn about this type of refrigerators is to have plenty of airflows. If it's going to be in an enclosed area put another 12v computer fan or have one pointing into the area to help. I have added another fan with a temp sensor to keep it cool and cool it down faster for someone else, and one larger 121 Q was being used in a high heat environment. If I am not mistaken, the power brick is just a 120v converter to a 12v, on that one too. So if you ever lose the 12v power cord, you can just cut the plug side [ refrigerator side ] by the brick to connect more wire for 12v direct to fuse block or battery._

It would be nice if equipment that claims "solar" as a benefit would actually present solar details instead of making us dig. The draw and expected requirements of battery size and panel input needed, for examples. Also, I think I would glue some foam blocks to the back side to stop unit being forced against something and blocking air flow input. Like a home fridge has standoffs to protect heat transfer. I saw the box dimensions seem to show 2" wall thicknesses. A temperature check on outside to see how heat exchanges on outside. That might show how well they insulate. Gaps in insulation will "let the cold out". I would also like to see the monitor panel at, what I consider, the front panel. As it is the controls are on the side. That means I must leave air flow at the end of unit and keep room to slide unit to see controls. I know I am being fussy but what the heck. LOL! Seeing all the screws holding fasteners make me wonder what they screw into, metal or plastic? How soon will the screws be over-tightened and worthless? Needs extra care I guess. Now, where you gonna drag that thing?
@gonagain3 жыл бұрын
I always have to be careful about keeping the vents free of anything that would block them, it's easy to forget and let a jacket or something slip behind. When that happens it makes the refrigerator run constantly. Did that...
@jimb51133 жыл бұрын
@@gonagain A piece of the packing foam glued to the side with the intake grille would be a safety measure. Also, if you placed that foam against a wall, or cabinet, it would help protect the lid from being flipped too far and snap those hinges or pull the screws out. Another fridge you reviewed had extra rubber stick-on "feet". They knew the rubber didn't hold but instead of fixing it they give extra parts. Most van conversions I have seen slide these fridges into a cubby-hole so sliding is expected. It seems sliding is a damned if you do and/or damned if you don't thing. These fridges on solar systems look to be promising for power outages. Hurricand time comes to mind for us in Florida. A smaller "camping size" might be gooder than a whole house system.

I wish I could take this review seriously but he tested it in his home off his shore power rather than testing it in the cargo trailer using only the solar power. I care less if it's heavy or noisy. I just wish he would have shown us how the power consumption using the solar holds up. I like this guy, but this review is worthless. I mean it looks like a real nice fridge, but who would need it in the house?!!! If it is not practical to use in the cargo trailer running off the solar, it is garbage. I don't need that in my house! I HAVE a fridge in my house just like everyone else.
@gonagain3 жыл бұрын
Sorry you're disappointed Alan, but I test each refrigerator exactly the same so that they can be compared apples to apples, the same test at the same temperatures. In real life it works the same no matter which power supply you hook up to it, so you can count on it working in your cargo trailer also.
