No! Follow the rule in the video. “But” is like “and”. When it’s not joining two sentences, it won’t get a comma.

Sorry, but I have no idea how to answer that without context. I guess they can all connect clauses in various ways, depending on the circumstances. Very few words like that in English can be easily defined or limited to specific situations.
