I wouldn't recommend setting your high pass filtering on the bass amplifier at 31hz. You should set it at 40hz. It will still play frequencies under 40hz but just not quite as loud which will make the bass sound more accurate around 20-45hz. As well, keep the bass boost off.

Man this is a great video. I’ve watched a lot of Steve’s videos and I don’t remember him ever showing how to sit the sub sonic, but I guess it was simple enough, but thanks for showing us we really appreciate the knowledge.

Do you have use the cc1 after you use the dd1 or can you use only one in case you don’t have the other one?
@grady.stu.83002 жыл бұрын
I just ordered the CC1. had no idea the dials on an amp can't be trusted. my buddy just did this and where the dial said it was set at 200hz the cc1 said it was 80hz. his sounds so much better. if we lived in the same state I could've used his cc1. lol

Yes you could be way off without the cc1! Helpful tool

Ok I just ordered a combo package of the DD-1 and CC-1 to tune my new deafbonce AAK 6k and JP 34AB I've never tuned an amp before let alone multiple amps and done crossover I didn't think about it when I ordered it but how do you tune it with the provided CD if you are using a stock head unit with NO CD player can I just play the required test tone through my phone or how do I do this
@SleepyBoiii6 ай бұрын
You can use the test tones that he provides on his website

@@SleepyBoiii ok I downloaded them please excuse my ignorance I'm still learning but I wanted to ask you when you were setting your crossover you said something about the tweeters playing up to 2K Hz but you set it at 2.5K is that how I need to set it up with the track based on the speaker parameters

So when I was doing my bass amp I couldn't get it to read the crossover till 40hrz , tried 31 and turned lpf all the way down and nothing so then I tried 35 and same nothing but on 40hrz it worked is this normal? I did exactly how you did it but only 3 overlap not 5 lol like you .

What would you do if you are setting the crossovers for a set of 3 way component speakers using the passive crossovers that come with the speakers. Eventually im going to go full active but for now im just using the passive crossover

if i have speakers that do 42 - 20,000 Hz what should i set my HPF too ?
@SleepyBoiii4 жыл бұрын
I would set the hpf to 50hz or even 60hz to be on the safe side. But also depends on your slope as well.
@smurfeco2.3585 ай бұрын
80hz with the slope it can come all the way down to 50hz

Do you think setting the crossovers on the headunit and amp is overkill?
@SleepyBoiii4 жыл бұрын
No not at all, because on your headunit you can also set your slopes after you set them at your amp.
@HG-NLINE4 жыл бұрын
@@SleepyBoiii Thank you i was thinking the same thing i appreciate it.
@calebsmith95343 жыл бұрын
@@HG-NLINE honestly, if you have the ability to filter the signal coming into the amplifier that is best, then the amplifier only has to concentrate on power and amplifying the selected frequencies. Never use both. Either use one or the other.

If I have my sub amp set to low pass 100hz and gain to half. Do I still use the low pass filter on the head unit at 100hz with -18db slope

I cant tell you about the gain because every amp/system is different.. But i would also set my lpf on headunit as well

How do you know what hz you want to play on your speakers?
@SleepyBoiii4 жыл бұрын
Make sure you you a little higher frequency that your speaker can handle, use a slope at the headunit once you set the crossovers at your amp. Check the specs of your speakers. It shows you the frequency range it can produce

This depends on a lot of factors is the enclosure the smaller then recommended size is it larger if it’s a smaller enclosure you can safely overpower the sub if it’s larger you want to under power for longevity however if the gains are set right you shouldn’t blow anything I have a t1500.1bdcp (dyno shows 1800w at 14.4v) on a t1d212 (800w sub) wired at 1ohm gains set with dd1 and oscilloscope no clipping and you should be good, how much more wattage is your amp then your sub? Also is it RMS wattage or max wattage that your looking at? What sub what amp you running? If you would like to hit me up on Facebook or IG R & E builds I can help you further
