I appreciate that you posted this in English and showed what you do. This was very helpful in so many ways. I take advice and decide for myself and that is what learning is, and we all have different ways that have risks and benefits. This is a great video to watch!

just installed the soundpost using 2 unmodified forks! it is possible but requires an additional step of tilting the post on one fork using the other (while inside the violin), so that you can actually have the post roughly perpendicular to the violin back when the fork is in the position the post should go. thanks for giving me courage and showing it can be done! no one in our family plays the violin but we found one under the house so it won't be too long before we have a working violin

I just bought a really cheap violin for 60 bucks not knowing what I was getting myself into. The soundpost was loose and rattling inside and I looked up some videos and most people recommend taking it to a professional but at the same time a few of the videos I was watching were just trashing on these cheap violins calling them vsos (violin shaped objects) cuz apparently it's trash. Lol So I saw your video thinking maybe I could put the sound Post in myself because if I paid a professional it'd be very expensive and I'm broke right now lol Fuck it. I'mma put it in and see what kind of crappy noise I can make! 😂😂😂

Or you can use a soundpost setter and save all that time. Just seems like all that fooling around you will run the risk of damaging the instrument.

You sound like you got pretty frustrated doing that lol

Why don't you just use the normal tools to do this instead of creating your own tools. Do you find it is more efficient in using your customed tools??
