You were the only person I heard thank "mothers who played dad's role" on this Father's Day... I just needed to comment to let you know how deeply I resonate with that sentiment & how truly greatful I feel for that tiny speck of recognition. A mother can NEVER take a dad's role. Im not trying to be mean, but a child without a dad is still dadless. A mother will just be there twice as much, but she is still the mother and not playing dad. Its a hole that a mother cannot fill.

Also it’s nice to see the reality of a coparent relationship, not everything is sunshine and rainbows. Nothing is perfect and that’s okay. I don’t have a kid nor I am in a corps tent relationship. Obsessed with your outlook on how to treat others the way YOU want to be treated, as a fellow gift-giver myself. I have given more gifts than I will ever receive back, but that feeling of getting someone something you know they will genuinely cherish and/or use regularly, that is enough of a gift to me! Love you so much Abbey. I’m so glad young adults like myself can have role models like you.

Before anyone says it, just because he would give her money all the time doesn't mean he was emotionally available. People usually use money and large sums to replace something they can't give and some people would prefer the emotional connection and work it takes to make a relationship work. I don't know anything about their relationship so I'm just speaking from what I know about those types of gifts/gift-givers. But for real I'm so proud of you girl 👏👏👏 your growth is inspiring, even when it's not a picture-perfect moment in your life you still share. Makes you so much more relatable but don't feel like you have to share things you don't want to. Hope you have a relaxing week ahead💜💜

Abby - related to your relationship with your parents, would you ever do a video with your dad discussing your addiction and how it was impacting him? I'd love to hear his POV. Although I didn't struggle with drugs, I've struggled/struggle with a life threatening eating disorder and I know it has hurt my parents. I still struggle and it really impacts our relationship (we have an okay one - not the greatest), but they've also called the police on me when I was 22, when I was threatening to hurt myself. Thank you! xoxo Stay strong!

Sweetie, please do not take this wrong, but you are the ex. The only thing that matters IMO in situations like that is the dad is still active in the child's life... my ex hasn't seen his kids in 5 years. Thankfully, they have my husband, who has been in their life for almost 8 years. I personally could have cared less about how he treated me, and it was awful, which he was awful to our kids as well.

GIRL I WAS IN TEARS because I already bought his panda dunks for Father’s Day. I want my kid to see her mom so kind things for dad. I want her to see that we all have the same sneakers but fuck it was rough. When Abbie said she’s not guaranteed a happy Mother’s Day I felt that shit. We do SO much for our kid and “family” dynamic as single moms. ❤ love you girl. Happy Father’s Day to you, your dad and Bobby. I love that you did this, I remember my dad buying small gifts for my mom for us to give her, they broke things off while I was a baby and even tho there’s a lot of bad blood he always tried for us. Mom wasn’t so nice, she’s really prideful I wish she would’ve tried for us but all he ever got was harsh words from mom. I called him today to have a little catch-up (we don’t live i the same country anymore) I encouraged him to get a little ice cream for himself. I felt bad because he said Father’s Day is not a thing and it doesn’t exist, I’ve never been able to gift my dad something not even for his birthday I also don’t remember any Father’s Day spent with him so I’m glad sissy gets to give him a gift and spend the day with him ❤️ abbey you are truly a beautiful person! You didn’t have to but you did and I know this sets a precedent for sissy and shows her that even though you have your fights you still respect each other and how hard you guys for her. I am 22. This is the third Father’s Day without my dad. He was addict but not the stereotypical dead beat. He was the most loving supportive dad but struggled mentally. I miss him everyday. I love when you say addiction can happen to anyone. I grew up in a nice suburban town. No one knew he was an addict. I didn’t know until I was 18. He hid his struggles so well. He was almost three years sober when he relapsed. Went through rehab again and then overdosed a couple months after. I will always regret not being there for him more in his last months here. Today is tough and always will be. I go back and forth on if social media is good or not, but your videos are really comforting. Wishing you the best💜💜

First of all, let me preface this. I feel like you're a real person in the sea of fakes, I've started to watch you recently and have been really enjoying your content. Just wanted to comment on one thing that I've noticed. If I were your friend and this was our realtime conversation I would totally back you up because I can relate and again, feel like you're being genuine and not skewing your side of the story to fit your narrative. But, this is public, everybody and their mother can watch this, including his mother, your family, friends and most importantly Bobby. And I presume he does because you talk about him frequently. Going back to what I've noticed. In the video dark side of co-parenting, you were talking about how you set up a boundry, and he didn-t respect it, and he blocked you even though he said he would use airplane mode, in this video you're talking about buying him gifts when he never does for you. I get it. And I'm not saying you're lying and that he's right or you're wrong. But I'm trying to look at it from his perspective and I think is very hard to "forgive" (if there is anything he should forgive you at all), or become less angry at you if you're here sharing his faults to the world, but not talking about things you did that have wronged him. Do you get what I mean? It feels like your confessionals about him probabaly drag out the argument more than it would usually last, because you also hit his ego in front of everyone. I don't know.. just wanted to say as an advice, that you, ofcourse, don't have to take from a stranger on the internet, but just to keep things a bit more vague, as to, who was at fault when you got into o fight or keep it more balanced by sharing what you did or said wrong in the moment. For the sake of your co-parenting status. Just my two cents, thanks for listening ❤
@msa8408 Жыл бұрын
I think there’s a cultural element to this that you’re not considering. In some cultures, like what I’ve seen from my friends who are from Pittsburgh, you speak bluntly about people. No sugar coating. No beating around the bush. No pussy footing. She talks about the reality of the co-parenting relationship from her perspective. And that’s the perspective we’re all here for. Right, wrong, or indifferent.

Thank you for being so transparent! Sometimes being on social media can be discouraging because most people only show the positive things in their life and situation or try to glamorize what isn't perfect in a way that makes it look so. It's nice to hear not only the positive things but also the negative things so that way we can work on them and have advice to do so. So coming from a mom who has no relationship with their kids. Dad, due to him not wanting to be involved but also being a sober mom as well and have to battle and choose to stay that way every single day. It's nice to see that I'm doing my best. Thank you so much! Exclamation exclamation

Its been 2 months. He sees our child for 3 hours tops once a week. He's literally not even the same man I knew. Acts different. Talks different. I still got him a small gift from our daughter and did her handprints for him etc. Our relationship is not great. I feel like I am constantly bending over backwards and he always has some lame excuse. He'd rather care for his young gf and raise her 2 year old than participate with our daughter. Theres a lot more I'm not putting here but I sure could use some advice

It is like that person died or never existed. He says 'I have moved on with my life' expects me to entertain a filipino child bride. Honestly these sad men. I feel awful for you and your child especially given the special needs element. What is that girl thinking if he will do it with her he will do it to her.

@@cw9108 He says he's "literally starting my life over" and "wants a normal life" a "normal existence" and "doesn't want to be known as Angel and blank". We spent 17 years together. Lived together the whole 17 years. I completely understand what you are saying. Its like hes a complete stranger. Ive been grieving as if he's dead bc the man I knew is dead. The girl had a bf/husband as well. So this split 2 families. She doesn't like him having anything from our daughter bc "its her trying to sway you to come back". Which is pathetic and disgusting. Until April when this happened I had never once questioned his love and faithfulness to me, and our daughter. Even his own family is confused by this behavior. And Im so sick of hearing its a midlife crisis. A midlife crisis doesnt make you throw all your values away. Hes addicted to this girl, and literally chooses her and her son over our 4 year old daughter. He doesnt even spend 4 hours a week with our daughter. Im sickened over this. And a child bride? Good lord. Its absolutely terrible and disgusting that men do this shit to good. Honest. Faithful woman and loving children.

Other then that I made him a small breakfast that he didn't eat 🤦🤷 he usually don't eat much in the morning just coffee witch I also made, but I mean the breakfast was my fault lol. But it was just toast and sausage then I put gravy over it. I didn't have biscuit lol so made toast.. but I had one it was good. Other then that we just sat at home he relaxed. Our kids stay at their grams on weekends so they are there till tomrw. I usually get them today but they wanted to spend another night. But it was an altogether a good day I guess. You got Bobby some nice stuff. It's the thought that counts. 💙💜

My dad passed away in 09 but I have a stepdad so I typically feel depressed. But then I feel guilty since he is a good step dad. I feel like I should be happy and celebrating him. But this was my second Father’s Day in a row with a migraine. As much as migraines suck they give me an excuse to be in bed and sleep through the rough day

You really do great work. Gifts sound like your love language, I’m so sorry he won’t speak that to you. You will meet someone great who WILL answer your language.

I was on the phone telling my mom that you and your baby dad are like me and mine...he currently has me blocked but its ok haha. He'll unblock me in 5-7 business days 😂 I posted a photo montage on snap and he didnt even watch it! Lol. We laugh this stuff off because at the end of the day, we are blessed to have the baby dads we do

Seriously people like this who motivate me and help me become a better person :) the selflessness in this video is real! Being a parent myself I could and have been in the same shoes as you ❤ and can resonate with you saying it makes you feel a lot better than the alternative route!

Personally, my dad is not a good person. I've tried my entire life to make things work. But he's an abusive person physically and emotionally. I would love to be able to tell him happy Father's Day today, but it's not safe or healthy for me. Not having parents and being an only child is difficult at times. It would have been nice to have a sibling to go through life with me. But maybe that's being selfish.
