Can anyone recommend a first MFT for me want a megger. Done a bit of research and 1731 is same price as 41?? Plus a few people have said don’t bother with this new software for saving results as it’s rubbish. Any advice or stockists would be great

When I connect the leads I got the value about 0.2ohm. but when I pick them up or move, the values change even up to 5 ohms. The connection is solid but the value change. I tried to move just the cable itself and it seams that it changes the values. Why could that be? I got the tester refurbished with calibration

Can any manufacturer explain why they supply a red test lead, they have changed from black to blue, but have stuck with red rather than brown.

You are right I have 2 fluke and new megger 1721 But when I ordered new set of test lead from fluke instead of red came brown with fluke sign on it I be never seen anyone else have brown But it works

How about doing a video on the Robin metres, the are still complyant after all, these new models are over priced and bulky, just my own opinion I have used ROBIN MFT since last late 80s And never had any problems. But an other great video from Gary

When you’re testing between L-L or L-N no rcd will trip so there is no need for the setting to be present.

@@Mr.Q852 thank you for your comment,what I meant is that in megger 1711 when the left knob is in the L-PE position and the right one is in the Z position you have got three settings to choose 3lo,2lo and 2high but when you change the right knob into Zmax than you can only choose 3lo and 2high.Why there is no 2lo setting any more since you still test between L-PE so rcd can trip.I thought Zmax is there only to register the highest value if you test lets say couple of sockets.So the setting 2lo still should be available.Maybe I just do not get something.Anyway thank you in advance for your answer.

The reason the MFT only gives you the option for 2hi and 3lo on ZS is because 2lo is not a preferable or accurate measurement. When you have 3 leads connected in the back of the tester it assumes you have 3 cores available to test, thus not needing 2lo. 2hi is the most accurate fastest test but is only useful when no RCD’s are in circuit. 2lo is used on for example a light switch with a Line & CPC and no neutral but on a RCD protected circuit that cannot handle 2hi. 3lo is generally used on circuits where all cores are available to test but RCD is present. As i say for accurate Live tests and PFC or ZE measurements 2 hi is recommended for use in the Megger MFT Instruction Manual. Hope this helps👍🏻
