I always place the panto at the bottom edge of my table. But I see you have yous on the middle of the table. Is that way we are suppose to place it?

Many manufacturers will suggest that you place it closest to you on the table as it is a straight edge and makes it easy to load. That might work most of the time. But we have learned through countless customer calls that it can create frustrating issues that could be avoided. When the quilt is very large, or there is double batting, or you are using flannel or minky the take up lever gets very big. So big that the head of the machine can no longer reach all of the design when it is at the bottom of the table. We prefer to find the center of our quilting space in the front, find the center of the table in the back and link the two together with the laser light. If you have a panto graph gridz it makes it a breeze to load a quilt and keep it straight, clean, and make any modifications you might need.

Question where is the laser a separate purchase or is the laser apart of a manual long arm machine?

Where was your needle when you started sewing?

On my machine, I always start off the quilt edge, (edges are basted down) and the needle is down in the quilt after pulling up the bobbin thread and taking a few stay stitches.
