Setting up a play area - 5 play zones in a small space

We've all been staying at home more than ever in the past year, and being restricted in a small space for long periods of time can be quite frustrating for little children. Here's how we have been making it work for us. While there is more I would like in our play area, my 4 year old is having a blast with the way it is set up. Hi Vidya, I loved your video about open ended play. I have explored lot of videos surrounding this idea. But I find yours the most informative and even things like covering child psychology and about dos and donts. My son is going to be 3 soon. Till now I have purchased mega blocks to see how the open ended play goes. He pretends them to be everything from a single block being a person to some tools for fixing his car, then he creates a telescope, a camera. He plays with them all day. I got mega blocks on his second birthday after watching your video. So thanks for that. I would love to connect with you as I have many questions on what to buy. But I have made mistakes buying a few toys in the past, which are just sitting and the play is really short lived.

Didn't follow any curriculum at that age, he used to go to a school two days a week for 3 hours, but even that stopped last year. We don't do a lot of structured learning, it is mostly interest led with him.

Same kind of layout would work when they start walking, but with different items, appropriate for their age. When my son was that age I remember we had mega blocks instead of legos, and more ride-ons, less art stuff, and a small tent, and he loved all those.
