My understanding is that the Victron cable you are using has a optical decoupler in it, so if you make your own cable, you want to consider that. There is a guy in Italy that sells a opto-decp. for 4 cables and USC-C on the other side. Makes it tidy, and electrically isolated. With that device you can use the generic homemade cables.

just curious, have you tried to add a network switch so you can expand the raspberry, say to add Victron communication to batteries?

Is it possible to monitor the solar input/output without using the Victron MPPT Charge controller? I understand I would need the Victron SmartShut for the battery input and it looks like the the cables sold are designed to plug into a Victron solar controller to monitor the input/output. I already have a Growatt charge controller, but really like the Victron Venus interface. Anyone else using this on their solar system without a Victron Controller?

If you have a multiplus compact, how do you connect to this. Is LAN cable direct, LAN Crossover cable or do you need the MK3 VE.BUS to usb adaptor

I tried for the 2d time and better results with the software config and driver install. However, the touch screen does not respond to Touch commands. Only commands from the wireless keyBd (up,dwn,lft,rt) commands. But this does not allow changing settings (turning on or enabling). This maybe because I have not installed the Victron Smart Shunt yet. I am only trying to get the Touchscreen working. I was able to partially get the touchscreen working w/o installing the Venus OS but the Commands at the top of the screen were not accessible. Any Thoughts?

I cannot connect to my rp4 b1.5. It gets to fetching data and then restarts. Ive cleared the pairing multiple times. Im stumped. Ive tried 2.71, 3.21 and 3.20.

I installed this Venus OS on my Raspberry Pi 4 but the Touchscreen does not work. It displays the Victron Energy UI and can be accessed with a wireless keyBd but the wireless keyBd mouse does not work and the UI does not allow entering a selection with the enter or return key. Any Suggestions???

Literally the only thing that works on the internet thanks to your crib sheet. That said could you please post it in your description as it is very context heavy. The / are missing on your sheet and you have to get the syntax perfect. Works with a 3b next stop is to go back to a Pi Zero 2W as it’s cheap as chips and I want the lower power consumption. Everything else out there just leaves you with a flashing cursor.

bad way to demo, and show , dont stick your head in front of the camera, and get closer to the screens you are showing.
