Girl you are brave especially leaving that top open. I would not be able to sleep in that house.

yes you got through it ! I started by colony by accident , I was buying roaches for my 2 beardies but then there went into brumation so of course there did not eat anything , but I still fed these roaches as normal , to my amazement there slowly was some male roaches and the rest is history , I have just bought a colony to top this one up , as there now have ate most of them them !

Oh, cool! I tried one in the past, but breeding never happened, I didn't know about the heat mat tactic... or maybe I didn't wait long enough
@masterofjedi1206 Жыл бұрын
@@DoubleDragonHotel I did not use any heat mat , though there was kept in a corner with the heat coming from a radiator , I learned depending on what viv set up anyone has you can stick the housing on top of the viv were the heat bulb is to keep them warm during the day

Awesome video. Thank you for your service to our country. I also lived in Texas before and am left permanently traumatized from the big insects. I was jump scared so many times. I appreciate you sharing your journey.

I'm not a fan of roaches either. I haven't gotten my 2 dragons all the way on them yet. I did see a video on where a roach breader put vasline about 1' to 2's down from the top to keep the roaches from climbing out. I'm not sure if dubia's can climb smooth surfaces. Also, I would try a scoop to get the roaches you want out. Keep us updated on your progress. I would like to learn while you're learning. Have an amazing weekend.

I certainly will! I don't think these can climb out.

I dont mind the insects at all XD my friends freak out when I just hold them in my hand. I dont bother with water crystals. A lot of people recommend a small slice of orange instead, and its a lot easier. Sometimes I use cucumber if I have that. Oat meal mixed with repashy superload works good as dry food.
@DoubleDragonHotel Жыл бұрын
Repashy is a very expensive way to feed roaches. I'd look into a place where you can buy "unmedicated" chicken feed.

@@DoubleDragonHotel hmm, you are maybe right. Shouldn't be too hard to find since I live in a farm land town. Tx for the tip

Just be sure to get the kind that's not medicated.
