You should push the hoses further in the filter side and place the hose holders down, you've got the hose holders on the wrong side they should be in the end of the hoses, not there, hope I explain it well enough

Your fish room is becoming so amazing each day! I can’t wait to see the cichlids get added to the 4 ft tank 😃
@MrBeswick2 жыл бұрын
Love how the Cichlid tank turned out, the color tone of those rocks goes perfectly with the sand and the black background really makes it all pop. I think some blue Mbuna Cichlids would go really great with the yellow ones you are going to put in. The fish room is looking great!

You should consider a wave maker for the other side of the aquarium to move the build up that may be in between the rocks

The Cichlid tank looks great Ryo! I can’t wait to see the fish in there. I love the yellow lab cichlid. I also love the blue ones. They are like a cobalt blue color or they call them neon blue or something like that. They yellow labs and the blue cichlids would contrast each other well too.👍🏼

Yeah!! I want some demasoni cichlids. They may be more aggressive but they stay slightly smaller :)

Hi Ryo! I had a similar setup for my Pseudomugil Luminatus, but I only had one male and two females. The tank was also a bit smaller and I basically covered the top with spawning mops. They were quite… prolific. ;)

For the tanks that are too close together for individual lids why not make one of your usual hinged poly carbonate lids long enough to cover them all end to end (it would be supported by clips on the outside edges of the two end tanks and supported in the middle by the edges that are close together) … them simply cut the poly sheet, between the tanks, from front to back as far as the hinge so each tank has a hinged lid that can be opened up individually (behind the hinges, I.e. from the back of the tanks to the front of the hinges the sheet will remain in one continuous sheet for stability). Seems much easier than fitting ugly braces to them all.

I had some Rotala floating in a quarantine tank with a trio of Pseudomugil gertrudae. I never saw the eggs, but a week after I moved them out of quarantine, I started seeing fry. Now I’ve got easily 50 fry! Maybe try floating plants?

Ryo, have you considered the rocks should be placed in such a way as to block the vision of the fish to reduce aggression when they chase each other?

Yup, I think there’s enough visual barriers for now. If not, I’ll change things up later on :)

@tonywillans75562 жыл бұрын
There's not much point fussing about rock hard scapes for African Cichlids because they will dig around and move the rocks. Also, you'll want to shift the rocks when you clean so the fish have some variety to their habitat. This will keep them amused and active and avoid them becoming too territorial.

I will move the contest tank further right, to an empty wall. Right now I can’t move that tank yet since that area is not free yet. It might happen sometime in the next year or two :)
