The ease of transferability is a bonus!

Agreed. I love the fact that it doesn’t have to live on a vehicle permanently because it’s to damn heavy to move.

Good review of the rack and tent. Innovation will drive competition and we as customers will benefit. That being said, my rack with awning and annex along with my Inspired Overland RTT cost me less than just their rack alone. The IO RTT weighs less about 80 lbs. so I can put it on and take it off by myself and it sets up and packs away in about a minute. Thanks for the review!

Sounds like you have a solid setup. Currently C6 has a sale going on right now so just the Rev tent is $600. Or you can do the tent and platform for $999. Honestly not a bad price.

Thanks and great timing! I just found this tent yesterday online and have been looking at video reviews. I am in the market for a RTT but won't use it more than 3 or so times a year. Taking most RTT's on and off is not easy and I don't want to keep it on my truck year round, this would be so easy to take on and off to store when not using it. We have an off-grid camper for when the whole family is with me but for a weekend out without the fam this seems perfect.

It sounds like you are the ideal person for a tent like this! Yes, it takes longer to set up but if you’re only using it a couple of times a year then who cares. The fact that it can be taken on and off with one person is key.

Thank you for the video. It answers many questions that C6 doesn't have on their website or on their YT videos. Definitely not what I'm looking for since I need something I can deploy and close quickly by myself in all kinds of weather since I need a tent on some of my jobs and I need to use the truck during the day. Great concept, but I hope they eventually get it to be a clamshell to open and close. Trying to get the tent back on your roof by yourself while it is snowing and windy (or even raining) will be a b.

I hear ya. I know it’s not for everybody because it’s not the quickest option. I think it’s geared more toward the person who camps a couple times a year and doesn’t want to run with the tent on their vehicle all the time. Removing this tent is so much easier compared to the other RTTs I’ve owned.

Be happy it wasn't windy nor stormy 😅. Good tent still

I picked a nice day to review it 😆 gonna get it out camping with it soon to see how it holds up.

Can you leave bedding inside of it? And I'm it insulated? I read somewhere that they were, but I couldn't tell in the video.

They do consider it a four season tent. I have yet to use it in cold weather but I think it will hold up well. And would think you could leave a small pillow and sleeping bag in it as long as they compress down nicely. Might be a tight fit though.

Seems like a great light weight option for smaller rigs. Does the rain fly come off?

For a smaller vehicle this tent would be a great option. Honestly not sure if the rain fly comes off or not. I’ll have to look next time I open it up.

This just seems like a ground tent you throw on a platform. Really misses a lot of the quick deploy aspect of the RTT.

That’s the beauty of it as it can be used as both. I’ll primarily use it on my overland trailer. However, when I put my hard top back on my JKU I can use the tent on top of that.

The weight savings is awesome. But I don't think I'd be a fan overall of it.. My whole thing when it comes to wanting a tent is speed to setup and tear down... (Which is why I've got a Gazelle for now... till I can figure out what I want in a RTT.)
@TrailExpedition

I get it. It all depends on what you really want. If you’re a person who is actively overlanding and setting up/tearing down camp every day then this probably isn’t the setup for you. This is more for the person who doesn’t want to live with a tent on their rig full time and can easily remove it.

@@trailtothevoid my other RTT I have to use a hoist or have two people minimum to take it on and off. It’s kind of annoying.

Interesting concept, but it feels like just a regular tent on a rack. It doesn’t seem worth the price. A grand can get a decent RTT or if your on a budget go get a cheep ground tent.
@TrailExpedition

I can see that. The mattress is included which is really nice. When I don’t use it on the rack I plan on using it on the rack on the top of my wrangler.
