Hey! So for jobs, I ended up being signed to a recruitment agency and they found a job for me immediately. Jobs were $35- $50 per hour. Apartment hunting: we wrote a really good cover letter, offered $50 more per week than advertised (we had no references). Any more questions, let me know!

Hi!! I got my WHV and planning to go to Brisbane for my starter. Is it hard to find place? Like sharing house or apartment? I will go alone (i'm female, 25 yo). Any tips? Also, is it hard to find job there? I have experienced with hospitality, but any job in general.. is it hard? I really am nervous because I will go alone by myself and I choose Brisbane with no friends or family. 🫠 Thank you.

hey gal, thanks so much for the comment. firstly, everything will work out! you'll just have to work hard applying for jobs and putting yourself out there. in terms of housing, I have a good few friends in house shares. rooms get advertised on housing sites and facebook all the time. you should join facebook groups for WHV people, you'll definitely find something! you got this! also, once you get here, join running groups or start a new hobby or sport to make friends. keep me updated on your journey!💖
