Setup RetroPie on the Pi5

Unless you are entering the commands using a keyboard connected to your Pi 5 you will need a way to connect to your pi using SSH. On windows I use Putty, I have added a link to the description to download it. I have also linked to instructions on how to do it on Mac and Linux Thanks to @vincentfason3761 for pointing out this mistake!

Followed your video to a T (Very good descriptions), and after the reboot, it goes back to the Login Prompt like before the Retro install. I know it's there because if I try to do it again, it says it's not an empty directory. Any help would be great.

Hey sorry type: cd RetroPie-Setup sudo ./retropie_setup.sh And go into configuration tools >auto start > start emulation station at boot It's in the video at 12:15 but right before that I made it sound like we were done. I think I'm gonna fix that and re upload

i have my raspberry plugged into my tv and i think it has low resolution, after retropie is installed and when it first boots up i get an all black screen with a flickering _

@@blackhole35 if it's flickering is likely a bad refresh rate. See if you can force your tv to 1920x1080 60hz

Mine failed to provide an IP adress, seems to not want to connect to the network. Is there a work around for this?

If you can get it plugged in via ethernet then finish the walkthrough and once your in RetroPie you can wifi connect using the menus

Where do you open up putty? On the pi 5 or on the computer you use to download the OS on?

Sorry yes I should have said that in the video. Open up putty on your computer not the pi 5

What emulator do you use for ps2 (god of war)

That was chains of Olympus for the PSP. However PCSX2 has an experimental build for retropie

Why did you pick the OS that you picked?

@@KnappPrimeTime the OS I picked was Lakka cause it's interface looks just like the PSP/PS3 but I made this video because lots of people prefer RetroPie
