Thank you so much for sharing John! Seeing as you spent time with Seve, we hope we conveyed one of his legendary actions respectfully.

Think there is a Lee Trevino video on here, with Lee demonststring the Seve Cowboy stance, for incredible spin, both legends, great video though Milo, cheers

I learned the game in large part from Seve’s Natural Golf book. My short game is completely modeled around his techniques. Someone mentioned a firmer right hand and softer left. Yes. Also, this shot is easier with an intentional reverse pivot; target-ward in the backswing and away from the target through impact. Square setup and ball forward. “Throw” the blade underneath the ball using the back of the flange on your 56* sand wedge. You can hit a similar shot with a low bounce, blade PW from a tight lie. More Seve content please! My favorite player of all time. His game just looked so natural and graceful.

You mentioned getting under the ball; is it possible to try this technique when there is only very little grass underneath the ball or is this technique only reserved when your ball is on a good lie?
@MiloLinesGolf2 жыл бұрын
Can be done off tighter lies as well, but demands more practice.

So him and Bryson have similar chilling styles huh!!!!! 😂

Haha, not quite, but Bryson has a few shots like this when need be. He was pretty darn good at Winged Foot!

Not fair! You get to hit off of real grass. Here in So Cal we're playing off of dead crab grass. I hit a perfectly executed flop shot over a bunker in a tournament the other day but my clubhead went under the grass because it wasn't attached to the ground.
@MiloLinesGolf2 жыл бұрын
That sucks. Sometimes the grass out here is too good and you try to glide but the ball ends up riding up the face too much, as was the case with Henry on his first shot.
@TonyNeri-s3e5 ай бұрын
by the way on the flop shot Seve put 60 % of his weight on the trail foot and not, as wrongly stated on the video, on the leading foot .He did so because more weight in the trail foot added loft
@MiloLinesGolf5 ай бұрын
I guarantee you it depended on the lie. Did you also have a force plate for Seve to stand on to verify this?

I have raked Milo over the coals in the past in his long game videos, however this wedge tip was really helpful. maybe after two years it is time for a redux with better lighting, urethane balls and this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/naOXXqSqp9Cnqpo

Thanks for watching! Wilshire CC, nice. One of my students, Dana has played in the LPGA event there several times.
@CapoSilverback2 жыл бұрын
What about that on a lot tighter lie
@MiloLinesGolf2 жыл бұрын
Similar play, but how aggressive you get will be based on lie and grass. Can't always be a hero or Seve in this case.

Right idea but the ball up that high doesn't need position 3. Reading the lie is very important.

Reading lie is crucial, yes.
