Why are the pronunciations रामा, रावणा महाभारता, रामायणा when spoken in English? They should be pronounced just the way they are pronounced in Devanagari, which is the correct way.

Devanagari is a script. Not a language. All these words have their root in sanskrit. In sanskrit, these words are pronounced as रामः, रावणः, महाभारत, रामायण. When these words are taken into other regional languages, their pronunciation changes according to languages' slangs. For example रामन्, रावणन्, महाभारतं, रामायणं (in malayalam) रामर्, रावणर् (in tamil) रामुडु (in telugu) रामा (in english, kannada)

Didn't Kripa help Aswatthama murder the army of the Pandavas in their sleep? He is an enigma--why did he participate in the midnight slaughter? Why didn't he leave? He also wasn't so powerful--we never hear how he fights with the other great heroes among the Pandavas--he is kind of in the background, doesn't get killed, but isn't important in the outcome of the war.

Sancracharya put it best Yuktiyukta vacho grahyam Yuktihina vacho satyajayam I.e.: if it's logical then should be accepted if it's unreasonable then seek truth. Krishna in Geeta mentions that ahimsa parmo dharma dharma hinsa tatheva cha. Kripa helping Drona's son, it was his dharma. Then how or why should he be exempted from the revered status? Just because he didn't fought from one side? Good and evil are irrelevant, similar to yin and yang. The only thing that matters is duty(dharma). Work, do what you must.
