From what my memory serves (and mine is terrible), I believe the movie is partially cannon. The six knights of black are cannon as they are mentioned in the manga.

The Characters are Canon and the stuff that’s said in the movie as well but the stuff that happened in the movie isn’t

They changed animation studios after this Movie And the animation in season 3 was terrible
