Optimus saw Primus's vision that all transformers need to be unified. Until All are One. Kind of deep like for us..we are all humans regardless of our sex, background, ethnicity. Optimus letting Megatron go wasn't just for friendship, but because Primus doesn't want any of his transformers to be killed. Primus knows there is a greater threat. Megatron while he has a point Primes failed, but it was one who claimed to be a Prime but wasn't. Megatron KNOWS Primus picked Optimus, but his hatred for Primes made him blind to a greater vision and also that Optimus is completely different Prime. He cares about others more than himself or power. As you see Primus felt the pain of his people and once Optimus was able to wield the matrix...Primus gave the cogs back to all the transformers missing theirs. Glad you enjoyed it.

Sorry mate, we may all be human, but we're not the same and we're not equal. And 4/10's of America doesnt belong in a first world country. just the facts. If a people are incapable or havnt yet created a first world civilized society they do not have not and will never belong (can't catch up to evolution) in the countries of people who have. This movie is closer to the G1 cartoon than the live action movies. But this movie is it's own universe. This movie is awesome. Great for new people that never watch transformers and Great for transformers fans

Know that Transformers stories are not related to one another unless specifically stated. Bayverse, Bumblebee/Rise of the Beast, and Transformers One are all different continuities and not related to one another at all. Going in knowing this will help make sense of where each series of movies is supposed to go and gives context to any future films that continue from each one. Watching now. Hope you guys enjoy!

To be fair Tf One took a ton of lore lements/story lines from both the Aligned continuity, and the G1 series. And I mean a ton. Like the cogless slave worker transformrs unable to transform lore was taken from the G1 series. Megatron's D-16 low class miner bot origin is from IDW/Aligned continuity, just like Orion/D's close friendship, nd Starscream's backstory.

Yeah. Orion Pax was Optimus's name before he became Prime. Also fun fact Orion menas hunter, PAx is peace in latin (hunter of peace). :)

Megatron fought optimus because as far as he could see another false prime had just been declared. Paxs constant reckless behaviour had been rewarded with power undeserved..

I'm thinking that the 2nd one will be the war against the Quintessons and then the third will be the civil war that eventually forces them to leave for Earth. I'm glad you all loved the film, I did too. It needs all of our help if we want a sequel, as it didn't do well at the theaters (thanks to Paramounts poor marketing, that first trailer was... bad). Legally, Hasbro can't make Megatron a gun anymore, following American toy-making laws post-1987, which. is why Megatron's gone from being a tank, to a jet, to a dinosaur, to whatever since I think the only new official gun Megatron since his original toy was the Masterpiece figure

fyi - for new people into transformers. "Transformers one" is all new origin story... So not connect to any current transformers lore. the story is mix with many TF series/comic into easy for new fan or old fan that never watch tv series or any see or read other variant story.. in old cartoon gen1 decepticons was the cybertron military and autobot was civilian. For other lore The Autobot High Council is the ruling body of the Autobots on Cybertron and decepticons do not want like The Autobot High Council old ruling.

This movie is its own continuity, not connected to anything that came before... it does draw from multiple previous media. Transformers unfortunately isn't one linear story. It is a multiverse. Elita was in the Bay movies too but was one of 3 motorcycle bots along with Arcee and Chromia in Revenge of the Fallen. You really should check out the original show from 40 (not 50) years ago.

The main beef is more like magneto and professor x almost both want to hav a united front but how they get it is what goes wrong mostly megtron trust in the system is totally shattered and he wants to remake a new one

Optimus and Megatron originally being friends started in the Movie verse and was adapted into the Aligned continuity, which became the basis of their relationship in all subsequent media. While Optimus usually started as Orion Pax as a data clerk or other civilian job, Megatron has started as a military hardware, aspiring warlord, and most commonly a miner or gladiator who rose up against a corrupt Autobot regime.

There are a few differences here compared to previous Transformers origin stories: 1. Megatron usually starts out as a gladiator in the Cybertronian arena whilst Optimus indeed started out as a cogless mining bot called Orion Pax and they did indeed start out as best friends who called each other "Brother" due to their shared ideals, however over time Megatron became more militant and power hungry whilst Orion/Optimus held true to the diplomatic and democratic ideals they started out with and was rewarded with the Matrix of Leadership for his integrity which of course intensified Megatron`s hatred of his former brother in arms . 2. The Quintessons are sometimes regarded as the creators or at least conquerors of the Transformers, here they are definitely in the latter category, whilst in the Bay Films they were in the former. 3. Sentinel Prime is usually a true Prime albeit somewhat of a blowhard who exaggerates his accomplishments by stealing the stories of other Primes, here he`s a false Prime and traitor. 4. In this continuity, Megatronus Prime is regarded as a hero by the miners of Iacon, in most continuities he is a traitor who later becomes The Fallen, the first Decepticon. 5. In many past continuities, the cogs were actually used by the Cybertronians` enemies to suppress transformations as opposed to being the medium through which they occurred as shown here.

Originally, Megatron turned into not just a gun but a Walther P38 which was the Nazis` favorite gun. In later versions, he turned into tanks and jets. He kept the arm cannon as a callback to his OG transformation though, however.
