A quick followup to a one-off joke from Sin #1 regarding Hasbro and their Magic the Gathering "Secret Lair Ultimate Edition", something what has provoked a lot of chatter in the Magic Community.
I admit this is an unscripted ramble, but in it I try to discuss humane design when it comes to Special Edition sets, Tins, Decksclusive cards, and Box Toppers, how to make them in a way that makes customers happy and makes game companies money, as well as the damage that something like the Fetchland set can do to your base.
As I allude to here in this rant, humane design is made from the understanding that you are providing a reasonably-priced service in the form of a card guarantee or special product that players and collectors are willing to pay extra for, with the tempered understanding that nobody likes to be taken for a ride or get heavily overcharged for what they are buying.
What would you consider as humane design?
