Hi Donna. How exciting that you’re getting started in this wonderful craft. Just remember there are no rules and if you don’t like something you can change it till you do. (Or rip the page out and replace it, which I’ve done. Haha). Thank you for watching and for your comment. I hope you have a ton of fun as you get into making your own journals. I’ll be glad to answer your questions, if you have any, or find an answer if I don’t know.

Hi, Linda. This is the first video of yours KZbin has offered me, and I love it. Your ideas are creative and very pretty. I love cardboard of all types. I save every chipboard box (cut off flaps) and I hate to throw away the shipping boxes. One tip I can offer, and you may already know it, is to lightly spray one side of the corregation (I tend to do the side with store printing) and the top paper peels off pretty easily. I like some patches left on the exposed ribs so it's ok with me if not everything comes off perfectly. Thanks so much - I am subscribing right now. Stay safe and have a great autumn. Diane

Hi Diane, I’m so happy to have you join. Thanks for that tip. We just had a bit of discussion about spraying with water in the comments. It’s great to have your confirmation that it works. I hadn’t actually tried it myself. And that’s a good point to take off the side with printing on it. Thanks for your good wishes and the same back to you.

Not stripped naked....I like the kind of tattered, shredded look of it stripped randomly, like you did on your journal cover. Peeled corrugated cardboard can be inked over completely and then stamped onto the back of tags/cards or on the page itself for lines to write on. Bits can be glued to an embellishment bottom in place of foam dots to create height. TFS!

I've tried peeling the cardboard back off and just can't get 'er done. Do you have any tips?
@lindaspaperworks2 жыл бұрын
Sorry you're having trouble with your cardboard, Debbie. It seems to me that some cardboard is glued better than others so is harder to separate. Also, ridges that are closer together (smaller) seem to make it more difficult to separate. You might try spraying the side you're trying to remove lightly with water. I'm wondering if spraying it and then microwaving it for a few seconds would loosen it up. Or maybe steaming it like people used to do to open envelopes. I've also heard that envelopes that are stuck together (unused ones) can be opened by running a hot iron over them. I wonder if that would loosen the glue on the cardboard? Sometimes it seems like parts will peel off and other spots on the same cardboard are stubborn. I usually just go with it in that case and use the "ragged" look. If all else fails, try another piece of cardboard. I haven't tested these tips yet, but I hope that one of them will work for you. Please, let me know if you have success and what worked. Best wishes for success and thanks for watching.
@lizzyanthus12 жыл бұрын
@@lindaspaperworks I also heard that wetting the cardboard a bit will help to seperate the layers. I haven't tried it either but will now, I think, just to see what happens. I kind of like the tattered look as well. Oh and I love your idea of sewing the pieces of the corrugated part down the middle! I have to try that soon! I love working with cardboard! Thanks for sharing!
