0:48 They got this one wrong, it means 'powerful', 'prestigious'. Kingdom would transparently be konungdomr, the Old English cognate being cynedom. It only means 'kingdom' if it's used as the suffix to something, so Austr-Riki is 'east kingdom', but by itself it just means powerful, prestigious, rich, etc.

Honestly thought it was pretty shit compared to the main series’. Felt some of the acting was poor and the whole thing looked very cheaply made. Series 1-4 were top tier, 5 fell off a little.

l liked the series this was a let down with main battle was tyred and the hellish screaming vocal sucked as usual yeah battle was nothing new it was taking a brave heart harkback and it only reminded you off how great the braveheart battle scenes were this was poor and lacking imagination

First hour was so rushed and so un -last kind like , and the ridiculous woke relationship between athelstan and his lover kind of ruined the historical accuracy of it , but the last hour was absolutely amazing , all in all if they hadn't rushed it and dropped the agenda it would have been great I say this as a last kingdom worshipper 😂lol 👍

it was historically implied, also implied by Bernard Cornwell in the book. It cant hold the candle to the books like the series themselves, however they made shieldwall battle better then in any show episodes Overall it was more coherent then previous storylines and actors did a good job and had good chemistry together

@@NotoriusMaximus The tenuous historical implications are mere retrospective wishful thinking by the Film's progressive female writer, clearly just to fit a new narrative. There's nothing remotely conclusive to draw any such assumption. Likewise, what the original books' author implies in his dotage, is also fiction, because it's just drawing from the same agenda, for reasons best known to himself. Placing the first King of England into the bed of a pretend Monk, was a step too far, and was neither necessary nor accurate. The intention was quite obviously to create a fiction that will inevitably be played, and replayed, to the young, who will think it's correct that the first King of England was, er, colourful. The Film was otherwise excellent, in places, but ruined by the above. Remove the agenda, and the Film would have been perfectly watchable, and re-watchable.
