Sorry for your loss of your brother. I lost mine on 11/1/21. He took his own life. Trust me when I say I feel your pain. We used to listen to this back when we were in high school in the late 90’s. I think more than likely introduced this song to him. Anyways, this whole album is great if you get a chance to listen. Songs like Devilboy and Rodrigo that didn’t get as much acclaim. The thought of my brother brought me here as well. Chin up and do the best you can to support your family. And may they support you as well. Fear not, there is an afterlife.

My best friend and I had a band and we did this song, Cumbersome, and My My live all the time, even when we were just an acoustic duo. We grew up with this shit.(I'm 47). He died last year. His voice was on par with Jason's...he sounded very close to him and was loud as fuck. Everytime we did any of them people were were rocked so hard that they would be a bit stunned, and then they'd give super applause for his vocals. It gives me joy that all you here on the comments dig 7M3 and other music of this era like we did/do. I fucking wish he was still here, I swear I'd set up a Livestream and we'd to do all 3 of them for you all as hard as we can.

I do have some stuff though. Here is a Dropbox link to our first little 3-song demo we did way back in 2000. Hard to believe it's been 20 years, holy shit. 7M3's My My is on there, and also Machine Head & I'm Eighteen (Creed style). See what you think :) And plz be kind, we had never recorded anything in our lives until that, LOL. I'll also try to find some other 7M3 recordings, maybe even a couple videos. www.dropbox.com/sh/pmrod3hq4b9s5co/AAAa_BG9b4OxuwoVv_84-J6Na?dl=0

why can't 7m3 come out with a nothing-but-2-guitars album. Every fantastic video of theirs online is just the lead singer and guitarist blasting raw, unbridled emotion through their instruments. I would pay upwards of 50 bucks to have them just blast out their greatest hits, and more, with just those two playing. Cumbersome, Water's Edge, Southwestern State, blue letter, subway tunnel microphone and others - with just those two - would be priceless and worth hundreds IMHO.

the 70's were better. seemed like a lot fewer A-holes and more open land. so much better music playing on so many radio stations and free music. albums had artwork that didn't require a magnifying lens to see details. concerts didn't take months of work to buy the tickets, which you weren't forced to buy from ticket agencies (Ticket Master, Stub Hub) and all of the BS fees. camping overnight with your buddys to be 1st in line to buy the best tickets that you could afford was a rite of passage. and you knew they were the real deal and hanging onto them after the show allowed you bragging rights that you were there. screw downloading tickets and music, I want the ownership of the disc and not have to worry about a dead comp. and corrupted files. today's youth will never have those experiences and the memories that went w/ it

When the Seattle sound spread across the country and became mainstream the radio was filled with great songs from Alternative bands from coast to coast...as a child of the 60s I thought that rock had died in 1979 with the last great album of "the era"...Pink Floyds The Wall. But in the 90s rock came back with a vengence and these guys were in the thick of it.

It is not a true story. "It was based on a short story that I read when I was younger by Raymond Carver," Ross said. "I liked the idea that you can't go through your life just watching and never acting upon your impulses. You can do the right thing or you can let the moment pass you by. And if you let that moment pass you by, you're always gonna regret it." This song is based on a short story by the author Raymond Carver called "So Much Water, So Close to Home".

There is one feature of this song that is better than how it sums up the best of hard mid-90's Alternative rock, without having been a huge radio hit, and that's how this song isn't about love. How many songs tell a story that contains no trace of romance or bragging? These lyrics purely fit the emotions of the melody, and the rhythm gives emphasizes the urgency of the warning contained throughout. I bought this CD when it came out, and wasn't happy with it until I found this song. At first, I was upset that Cumbersome was the only one hit wonder song of this crappy CD, but then I heard this song, and I've never forgotten it.

Not underrated at all so originally the band was from Virginia where they played in coffee shops but about 94-95 they were played all the time on the radio in Orlando and in Florida in general I guess wjrr pick the band up and sign them for their first official CD release I was young when that happened but I remember hearing them on the radio at least 10 times a day this song and cumbersome brings back great childhood memories so it just depended on where you were located they were huge in Florida and Virginia
