Back in the day in the outdoor club we used to sing this but we had other old ladies with different situations. Went looking for it to refresh my memory. I just thought of it when I was babysitting my 2 month old grandson and he was crying. When I sang it he got quiet and seemed to be paying attention. 😉. Also, I saw Oscar Brand in concerts pretty often and the clay model really catches what I remember him looking like. Great job!

Lonesome Pine BlueGrass Band and friends sang this to great laughter at the bluegrass jam at Riderwood in Silver Spring Maryland Thursday 5/9. i thought they wrote it! that's the joy of oral music folk tales, isn't it??

Kate Deaton I always thought this was a Newfie tune. Well the version I was used to anyway. I guess Newfoundland, Ireland, England, Wales, Appalachia are all from the same thing when you go back far enough.

Oscar Brand, born in 1920 and nowin his late 80's, is one of the all time greats, along with Pete Seeger. Oscar the Grouch was named after this humorous Canadian when he worked on Sesame Street in the early 1970's. Francis J. O'Reilly

Very funny. My dad used to sing a song like that, but he stopped at three old ladies. The claymation made the song that much better.

Even better than the arrangement Dr. Demento played back in the day. Why more Oscar Brand isn't on CD is a mystery to me. He belongs there as much as anybody else. so what if he's naughty? There's a place for that in this world.

When I was a kid, a friend of mine had a record of this song but it was 13 ladies not 7. My friend's mom heard us listening to it and got mad. The later part of the song got quite dirty as I remember.

I'm an artist and animator myself. Commenting is naturally a way of giving feedback. I wasn't saying that it was a bad piece of art, quite on the contrary.

I was giving constructive feedback, I said it could use more frames that's all. The rest is all positive. I think it was a good job and the characters and set was very well built! So props, it is a good video.

The animation is a bit jerky, you could use quite a bit more frames but other than that the character and set design is quite stellar. The song of course is hilarious. Props.
