The new bumper looks fine. The Plasti-Dip was a good idea, I have used Rustoleum Rubberized undercoating spray which is similar on the underside of my mower decks to help prevent/stop rust.

I just bought a 05 z71 Tahoe, mine has a rusty bumper as well. It’s not terrible though so I think I’m just going to sand mine down and paint it but that is not a bad price on a replacement. I also need a key fob and those are about 10-15 bucks as I can program it. I’m coming from a Mercedes and a new remote would have been a few hundred bucks and needed a dealer to program so this is going to be nice.

It would have been easier to take radiator cowl and grill off first. They come off easily and give you better access to the bolts and fasteners. ...OH, you figured it out.

I just bought the same truck , same color and it has the same problem. Chevy didn’t paint the bumpers correctly on the z71. I never see one here in NY not rusted. I’ll be doing this come springtime , thanks!

I notice the gap between your hood and grill and between the headlights and grill. Mine is the same year and color as yours and has the same problem. Drives me crazy. Been trying to find out how to fix it

It bugged me too. I think it was just the way the plastic grille was made and/or aged.

I hope you can help me. I’m trying to find the upper bumper trim clips for the truck. I took it off my 2005 GMC Yukon XL because I was gonna replace it with a newly painted one. But in the process of taking it out, I broke all the clips and, my girlfriend cleaned the area, swept it and threw away the clips now I’m trying to find out what kind of clips, I need to buy bumper trim piece

Nice video 👌👍 but I think that's a lot model z71 got round fogs that's Intergrated into the air dam ...I've own 15 z71s and swapped bumpers from Denali to z71 just for kicks

What are the two elongated holes for above the front licensens plate for? I have them on my 2003 tahoe and you can remove the covers if you want. Just dont know what they are for.

They are just for styling...the don't have a function at least on my vehicle

Mine is the same as yours. I'm assuming it's cosmetic or make on a high performance Silverado they turn into additional grille opening for air flow

Yes you can remove bumper with everything attached to it. Unplug fog lights, remove 6 bolts and you're good.

I purchased a new front bumper cap, and when I put it on it looked wavy, and has a little “bubble” in the middle where it raises up for an unknown reason. Any help or suggestions?

Are all of the clips seated properly? If so, where did you get the cover?....if its a Chinese knockoff, you may be stuck with it. You could try using a heat gun to try and re-shape it.

I found this amusing, that’s all Here are some “low quality “ brands made in China. Prada, Coach, Armani, Trek, Canon, Nike, Honda.

I realize most everything we buy these days is made or at least partially made in China. I get your point but "brand names" tend to manage the quality of their outsourcing better than the generic direct from China companies do. I guess that's what I was getting at with my comments.

I know this is old but, What kind of legal shenanigans you got going on here? First you got a Kentucky plate, then you install a Wisconsin rear plate that's outdated, then at the end a different Kentucky plate, Arizona plate then a Texas Truck plate LOL
