I've been using it now for a week. This thing is fucking amazing. The learning function is fantastic and I've literally put the 8 remotes I had before in a drawer.

For a price tag of $300.00 this fucking thing should come with wireless charging, voice tracking so if you misplace your remote you can yell out a phrase and it'll let you know where it's at. It should be constructed out of something better than plastic like aircraft grade aluminum and should have gorilla glass protection. Step up your game Sevenhugs.

Do you have this set up in your home now? Could you create a video showing its functions please.

I SUPPOSE WATCHING SOMEONE OPEN A BOX IS ENTERTAINING FOR SOME BUT I WAS HOPING TO SEE HOW IT WORKS.

Does it work

I would say, still very very rough. A lot of limitations. I treat it as still in beta stage.

"welcome to the future of home control" 🤣 already outdated by Amazon echo and Google home when the campaign started.

Lea Robinson not really, the echo and google home requires voice. I don’t mind voice, but it sure have it quirks, like changing channels, etc. but this device is going against the Logitech Harmony devices

@@xguy9999 yeah I appreciate your point, when I first started talking to a small plastic box I felt stupid and awkward, now I'm accustomed to voice commands it it feels normal quick and easy. As far as the sevenoaks hardware, having a touchscreen ONLY remote is a terrible idea, physical buttons are so much better in this use case. Anyone that has tried to control devices using a phone as a remote will know the pain involved, constant input errors and having to dig through many screens to find the buttons they need. The sevenoaks remote screen is tiny so you'll only have the most basic functions on screen. The battery life is a day at most, so if you forget to put the remote back in the changing stand you'll find you can't even turn the TV on let alone change the channel, I guarantee this will happen regular, especially if you can't situate the dock close to your seat. The remote has to be docked precisely onto a tiny plug and socket, I can see that being extremely frustrating to dock and there's a good chance of this being a breaking point. This should have been wireless charging but at minimum it should have been pogo pins with a cradle to quickly drop the remote into. The main selling point for this remote is you just point it at what you want to control, it's a very cool function but completely gimmicky. The problem with this is you have to place 3 ugly discs on your walls in specific points around your room, no hiding it behind things or high up in corners. This restricts the use of this "one remote to control them all" to a single room. So if everything you want to control is in one room, then great, that's not ever the case though is it. Last time I checked there was no implementation of controling things you can't point to but even if this can be done, you'll have to scroll through a ton of screens to find the options you require. This is an expensive product with a nice gimmick that could have had potential but you're better off controlling everything with one or more of the following. A phone which everyone already has, a Logitech harmony remote which is much better suited for this use, a home hub like Google home/Amazon echo.

Lea Robinson You make very compelling points as well. I did purchase this device and if many of the issues you wrote about becomes a headache for me I sure will return it. But for me I’m so used to controlling devices with a touchscreen, using apps and harmony hub app on my phone. Using a touchscreen probably won’t bother me one bit. Yes, it would be nice if the controller would last longer than a day out of the charger, but how hard is it to put it on the charger before you go to bed like you do your phone, smartwatch, etc. the one thing I am curious about is the remote pointing, I plan on using it in my family room, have most of my entertainment gadgets at, so I Hope it recognize all my smart devices with ease like they show in the promos. I guess I will see.

This offers much more granular control, especially for AVRs. Its obvious you are a person with no home theater.
