They really focused this comeback on performance and keeping it all on one set was such a good idea. There’s a lot of references to Dragonball too like S.COUPS part and he’s talking about a flying cloud, JOSHUA and the power pole etc. They have repeatedly said it’s the hardest choreo they’ve ever had to do! And that it’s Woozi’s era🤩🤩 the rest of the album is incredible too, plz do check it out!!

@@啥摸 I know!! I should’ve worded it better like I know it’s based on Son Wukong initially but it also has references to dragonball which is how I’ve perceived it coz I used to watch it!

When they say Sonogong its the Korean name for Sun Wukong the Monkey King from the Chinese novel Journey to the West aka the inspiration for Son Goku from Dragonball so there are many references to it throughout the lyrics, the design of the outfits and the dance moves.

Super TRC. The Dragonball references were great. kamehameha, and instant transmission in the choreo. power pole and flying cloud in the lyrics. The last part of the song talking about collecting energy like a spirit bomb and saying its the cartoon's ending. Also the black and gold fits which are the colors the monkey king wore iirc. Fantastic display of how to incorporate a theme into a song.

@@啥摸 you do know that some of dragonball is based on Journey to the West right? They also took inspiration from the anime for this song. Sonogong/Sun Wukong/Goku. woozi is a huge dragonball fan. That anime is how a lot of people were even exposed to Journey to the West

Super TRC :) loved this song and choreo! Love that they tied DBZ references into the choreo and song (and The Journey to the West). Apparently Sonogong doesn't only mean Sun Wukong but it also means Goku in Korean. I know Woozi loves anime and a lot of the other guys do too so it's pretty amazing they tied it into a song. Andy and Jas broke down the whole song/choreo and did a great job explaining it all if you're interested!

Fun reaction as always, y'all! This was a mixed bag for me. I love the choreo, the visuals and I agree about the collective gym goings 😂. What I'm not sold on is the song. It felt all over the place and not in a good way with the drum & bass uk garage intro, the afrobeats lite, the drop out (loved that bit) and then the hype chant chorus (which was my least fave part). The performance aspects definitely carries here for me. Also Super TRC 😉
