The most disturbing part about this show is that Helly’s outie knows, she just doesn’t care. I can’t imagine how Helly feels knowing that she’s doing this to herself. She’s out there CHOOSING to put herself through this trauma, and there’s nothing she can do to stop it. It’s like psychological suffocation.
@Insp.CountMortisWinshipKlaw Жыл бұрын
The most disturbing thing is Severence relates to our lives. We are a doctored version of ourselves but we have lost the memory of who we are. We live in a false reality. We are a copy of an original for there is no tomorrow, no new day. They try to make it seem like there is with new fashions, new designs but we exist in the never ending story like in Citizen Kane. They put this in front of our face all the time in TV Shows and films. Vanilla Sky, Doctor WHO etc I doubt many of us will remember our name in this lifetime but if you do you will leave this dream world immediately because it's all in the mind, the temple so to speak. That's why Doctor WHO(WHO, you getting this yet?) is called the destroyer of worlds because as soon as you leave this place the world that our minds created, dies.

Which is why (I think) Helly hung herself in the elevator. She knew she would revert back to her outtie. She knew she would not die ( Cameras everywhere) She was sending a message. She could have hung herself in obe of the unused parts of the building if she really just wanted to die.
@HydrostaticShark10 ай бұрын
It's been a minute since I've rewatched, but it seems possible Helly may have put herself to the knife to kick up a revolution from within while under intense scrutiny on the outside, trusting in her own force of personality and sparing anyone else from suffering an innie's fate. Maybe she's already tried getting double agent candidates hired but they haven't managed to get what she needs. She would need to hold her own (innie's) hand to the fire without rousing suspicion.

I’m pretty sure they are cloning people at Lumen. Here’s why: 1. Gemma died in a car accident, if they never found the body, it would be a bigger plot point, but it’s never talked about. But if Ms. Casey is her clone, it would explain a lot. 2. Ms Selvig’s obsession with Kiev seems to come from the ideia that Lumen will help her in a way. I think the bracelet she has is for her daughter, who died. And she is hoping the cloning procedure can be perfected to bring her back. 3. That would also explain the goats 4. It would also explain why Ms. Selvig was looking at Mark’s wellness check so closely. She wants the clones to remember their past so that her daughter can remember her when she is cloned. 5. The map shows some people live there and O&D clearly seems to be 3D printing ordinary house objects to fill these places. But wouldn’t their families miss them? Unless they don’t have families EDIT BECAUSE I THINK I MADE A DISCOVERY: When Ellie is first activated the first thing she thinks about her state is that she was “created” by the company. She doesn’t have the memory of her outie but she had her instincts. I think the episode is giving us a clue, saying “look this person who knows the company thought this when she was activated”

I think Gemma is properly dead, and Lumen is experimenting with severing dead minds. She is sent back to the "testing floor" after she's done working after all. This is probably why Harmony is so invested in Gemma recognising Mark. She wants there to be something left of the original person, so she can use this procedure for her mother... who's probably in cold storage at Lumen. If the chips work 100% though, it wouldn't be her mother coming back and there wouldn't be a point to it - this would be why she's crushed then Milchek says the chips are working as they should.

Great insights and catches of small details! One thing you may have missed in “The Macrodata Refiner’s Orientation Booklet” attached to “The Lexington Letter” is that Lumon started as “a salve company” (and the letter writer knew Lumon as her deodorant brand), but now it’s a leading biotechnology company. When you googles biotech, you soon learn a few interesting things, like how goats have played significant roles in biotech research, from cloning to antibody harvesting to “farming” pharmaceuticals inside their bodies. That brings an interesting component to why there would be a goat room in an office building. Is Lumon still cloning them… and might they be cloning humans, too? There are articles like “Herd Of Secret Drug Goats Discovered At Biotech Ranch” and “Disappearance of Goats, Rabbits at Santa Cruz Biotechnology Raises Questions About Facility's Future” if you’re interested in fueling more theories. It’s a fascinating rabbit (and goat) hole. Googling biotech also explains how the industry is divided into 4 color categories, like Kier’s 4 tempers: green is agriculture and environmental, yellow is food and nutrition, red is medical and health, and blue is aquaculture and marine. That brings an interesting level to the different badge colors in the office. Not only that, but the four colors of the macrodata number sorting categories are also green (Woe/WO), yellow (Frolic/FC), red (Dread/DR), and blue (Malice/MA). I also found it interesting how they focused on water tower that has the Lumon logo on it. What might a biotech company be doing controlling a water supply? And is this why the employee handbook tells them they need to be washing their hands 10 times per day, including before they start a shift and before they leave for the day? Washing one’s hands every hour in an 8-hr work day is excessive for even the most OCD office worker, so might the water be serving another function here? It’s also in all that coffee they’re drinking. Also, is this why Petey started having his breakdown in Mark’s shower? So much to think about for the next year or so before we get another season!

i’ve seen theories suggesting that Helena is actually working with Rahgabi & Co to take down Lumon from the inside and that Helly is the manifestation of that. This is interesting if you consider that Irving is the polar opposite of this. His outie is investigative and suspicious, almost hinting that he only underwent the surgery to glean more details in order to blow everything up, except that his innie is an ardent supporter and rule follower, exactly the person Irving did *not* intend to go in there. I think Burt and Irving do have an outside connection beyond Irv’s paperwork. Maybe their relationship ended bc Burt wanted to do it but Irving wasn’t supportive and, wracked with grief over his love, had the surgery to be nearer to him (or to keep an eye on him out of worry). Irv has always been consistent with this, even when he didn’t realize it. Take when they used the Gainor’s security card to escape MDR - Irv _had_ to check on Burt to make sure he was alright. It’s possible this is so deeply engrained in his psyche he does it whether he’s on the outside or the inside of Lumon. Unfortunately, I do think Helena is just a corporate shill since, if you contrast with Irv, her innie is rebellious and insubordinate…everything her outie is decidedly not. Likable innie, hot human garbage outie.

my theory is that memories can be accessed through art. irving was able to paint the "testing floor" and mark was able to sculpt the tree where his wife supposedly died. i feel like this might come in handy in the next season. at the same time, i'm wondering about irv's memory of the testing floor. i feel that in this art situation, you can only create it from great memory. irving seems to have the image of the testing floor perfectly. this may mean that he's been on the testing floor several times, but i am trying to figure out why? also, the theories of ms. casey being dead on the outside and alive at lumon, i wonder how the theory would actually be possible. from what we know: your severed memories can only be accessed through the elevator and the overtime contingency. there's no way ms. casey would be able to access the inside of the lumon office if she was: in a coma, dead, etc. she's either not dead, or there is another way to access your innie/outie in a way that we have not uncovered yet.
@sammccubbin10472 жыл бұрын
Well the image of what we see of Ms. Casey going down in the elevator with the arrow lighting up red and what Irv is painting is not what you would see if you were Ms. Casey, it’s what you would be seeing if you were Mr. Milchick… There’s a theory that Irv actually held Milchick’s position before he did. Would make sense why he would have that memory of the elevator and why he would have a list of severed employees if he did more than just MDR at Lumon. Another piece of evidence is it’s revealed on the severed employee sheet he has that his last name is Bailiff. What does a bailiff in a courtroom do? Takes prisoners to and from the jail, keeps general order of the proceedings. Essentially Milchick’s role on the severed floor is that of a bailiff. I’m guessing that Irv was starting to put all these things together while he was in Milchick’s role, but Lumon caught him and then wiped him as clean as they could and stuck him in MDR.

Your opening clips are hilarious and priceless. Dylan was the hero, hodor style, but nothing topped Milchick’s defiant jazz dance moves. I absolutely loved this series. Glad you mentioned the Lexington letter. Petey also told Mark they were killing thousands of people. Irv clearly has been reset many times, hence his continuous investigation and painting to reach his subconscious…he is x-military…and I’m sure there were tons of experimentation in the military, killings and severing….and ultimately immortality for the founders, I wonder if they experiment on dead bodies to find a way to bring Kier back to life.
@dulcissomnia-p9f18 сағат бұрын
i also think he has been reset, otherwise he wouldn't know that corridor casey/gemma is also sent to. assuming he had ptsd for being a military i.e mentally ill, it also explains why both of them somehow "sickly" would need such type of extra attention

I think there is some kind of connection between the painting they found of Innie's tearing each other apart, and how violent Dylan became immediately towards Mr. Milchick, and the fact that he went for biting him instead of a normal angry reaction like punching. Does switching back and forth make people violent, maybe they allowed people to do it or tested it on people previously and this was the outcome? If so how will that affect the other 3? Also Petey died because he reintegrated without following the instructions. So since there are instructions, it must have happened before because there's a precedence for it. And Lumon shutting down every attempt of Cobel trying to tell them someone reintegrated without caring about her evidence screams cover up like they already know.

I believe Gemma was indeed in a car accident and injured greatly but I think Lumon swooped in and cooked the books to classify her as dead and then put her through the process. We've seen Lumon have a lot of power and connections in the medical field as well as the political realm so I think this isn't too far fetched. I believe all the people in the building who cannot leave were injured in accidents or classified as missing or something and brought in as the first test subjects as they are the perfect people to conduct experiments on.

Regarding “she’s alive,” the partygoers will mistakenly think Mark is referring to the baby. And they will dismiss his outburst as such, thus never concluding that it is Gemma to whom he’s referring. Clearly that is the intention of using “she’s” alive rather than “Gemma’s” alive by the writing staff and producers.
@srhengel2 жыл бұрын
maybe. But from what I recall Mark was holding their wedding picture, right? So at first they can think he's referring to the baby, but his sister might figure it out it's about Gemma. idk
@JonnyYouTube2 жыл бұрын
@@srhengel Certainly possible. If he’d been brandishing the photo I’d give that possibility more weight, but he has it tucked into his torso, so it may not even register. And given that he’s switching back to his outie and most of the people there are likely to have attended the funeral of his wife I’m not sure they’re going to make the connection (read: leap) that Lumon is reanimating human beings just yet. Can’t wait to find out though!
@keeper90072 жыл бұрын
Went back to watch the episode. At 40:55 it is in his right hand as he’s running out. So that will probably get the message across. Even if it was words with no photo, it would still play out like this: //Mark transitions back to outie with room full staring at him Them: “what do you mean ‘she’s alive’ Mark?” That’s gonna be a dead giveaway. It’s like his innie passing a message to his outie by way of others repeating back to him. There won’t be any confusion

I REALLY hope they don't drag that finding of Gemma being alive out another season, I hope they kick off season 2 with the sister understanding what's happening. Nothing kills a brilliant and addictive storyline faster than trying to ride it too long. But based on season 1, I can't imagine these writers would make that mistake. Just wanted to say I binged watched this show for 3 nights straight. Great show. That last shot of Mark screaming she’s alive…man that had me moved because I knew the closing of the overtime was coming but his face and the shot. You have to realize Mark S didn’t know about his wife. Mark Scout is the one that is so lost without her. But in that final shot it’s as if you can see both Mark S and Mar Scout becoming one with his desperation of needing help and yelling about…well everything. The atrocities Lumon will go to, with his wife who may or may not be dead or severed, etc. Then like we all knew…Voooomp…back to just Mark Scout he became. The end.
@JulieBarbara7 ай бұрын
I thought the same thing about that moment, and also when he saw the picture of his wife and picked it up, staring at it with tears welling up in his eyes. We've never seen that level of emotion in Mark S. While he cared about Ms. Casey and wanted to fight for her to keep her job, there was no deep emotional attachment to her because he didn't know she was his wife. But in that moment when he saw her in the photo, the look on his face - and then his frantic face when he screamed that "she's alive" - it felt like the two versions of himself came together for those few moments, before he switched back to his outie. Because he loved his wife so much that when his innie self saw her picture and realized the truth, that love he felt for her seemed to transcend the severance.

I always thought that Irving always painting the elevators makes sense. Im an artist and I understand why this happens. When you do something creative, this makes way for the contents of your subconscious mind to come to the surface. Art is a quite literally a method of accessing the subconscious mind, which would contain Irvings Innie. Even though, conscious irving doesnt understand the paintings he creates, its his subconcious mind that communicates these things.

I was feeling that in the first few episodes. Like, watching Mark on the first day navigate the endless blank hallways to get to his desk. It instantly reminded me of the experiments with mice/ rats learning to navigate mazes. And when they were explaining to Helly that some of the numbers would feel "scary." It made me think of the tests they do on rats/ mice where they do one thing and get a treat, but do another thing and get pain. Or how the workers get little "perks" like a finger trap or a melon bar and companies think it makes up for not treating their employees well. You get a pizza party or donuts or a certificate and that's supposed to placate you into forgetting that you're working for a soul-less corporation that only sees you as a number and couldn't care less if you can't afford groceries so long as you hit your stupid goals that they created to keep you in line and under pressure. Or...is that just my experience in corporate jobs? 😂😭

My theory on the show is that they're trying to create the "perfect" human - a human without the negative aspects (anger, effected by trauma, sadness etc. ) that can ultimately be completely controlled en masse, and a human that can live forever (take their mind and continue to transplant into another "clone" or person). Imagine what you can do with a society like that? The applications are limitless and super frightening.
@user-dc7um4pr3f2 жыл бұрын
My theory is they're trying to create a human race that can survive the automation of work. They don't do anything. Their work is as trivial as a word search. The point of severing is that machines will soon do all work. There will be nothing for humans to do. Since that will lead to social unrest, political obsession, identity crisis/mental health issues, etc. (as we even saw during the pandemic when people were being paid to do nothing), they're trying to separate people's work life from their personal life. This way, people can be assigned to a socioeconomic standing and not remember what work they actually do. Without knowing the work you do, you can't argue for higher pay, question authority and why they make more, etc.

Yes, I was thinking this as well. I am guessing that the data that they are filtering are their own negative feelings and emotions. They are literally teaching Lumon's severance chips how to control them better. That's why they can feel the data as some sort of negative emotion like fear.

it's all so fascinating and intriguing that concept of separating work you from personal you by isolating the memories, to be kind of becoming a separate person from oneself once the work shift starts and ends. Helly's arc is so fascinating to watch with her innie and her outtie actively antagonizing each other even when they're aware they're just one person. Both personas are determined, headstrong, and stubborn but their circumstances are different and one is at a greater disadvantage so of course one would want to be free of it. It reminds me a bit of that Black Mirror episode where a consciousness of a proud self-made boss lady was made into a digital copy and forced to serve as a digital assistant but she's a copy of a proud boss lady so she doesn't want to serve anyone and then they torture her into submission because she's not real, just a digital consciousness. In any case, i love this new show's premise and that season ending was so effective and powerful, I can't wait for the next season.

My personal guess for Lumon's primary goals: - the ability to create the perfect manchurian candidate. While severed, They control everything a person sees, does, and has access too. Under Severance a person can just as easily think they were reporting to work, while their alternate personality is being manipulated/trained to do specific task, all while being convinced they 'volunteered to do this'.. I think it's a giant psy op still in its testing phase, learning just how far they can push the mind and leave no witness at the flick of a switch. TV/movies are often based in reality, to shape our opinions about specific topics - and this show seems to have all the hallmarks of the CIA's MK Ultra project, with a new, better, 21st century method. In final stages, years of training can be put into creating an assassin or group of insurgent cells, only to be used and activated in the outside world for evil tasks. Those people would have no idea they were ever on a mission once switched off, and every asset would be disposable and replaceable once their methods are perfected. Extreme secrecy and total control over people, all while able to maintain the appearance subjects are merely working normal jobs - and their own 'outtie' has no idea. It would also explain the seemingly coordinated effort by insiders to stop this program. Gov projects are often outsourced to private companies which make then free from congressional oversight and any FOIA requests. For anyone that doubts the real word relations to projects like this, I suggest they look up DARPA's project lifelog - which was only ended when congress complained about the invasive bulk collection of data on the public, then ask yourself what the mathematical probability is project lifelog was officially ended the same day FB was officially founded - and both do the exact same thing. Gov projects masquerading as private companies are all around us, and most people have no idea. Anyway - in the series, Mark’s wife is considered “dead” in the real world. Lumon has her under lock and key, and essentially created their own “ghost agent”. I’m sure she’s not the only one.
@Yuddder2 жыл бұрын
interesting theory and all of the stuff in the last paragraph, albeit might be true, could be a stretch.
@kctyphoon2 жыл бұрын
@@Yuddder look up project lifelog’s official cancellation date, look up FB’s official start date. They are the same program, doing the same things, but with FB they made it “cool” to get users to input their own data. FB tracks your online data even after you remove the app, with capabilities to remotely engage a devices camera and microphone w/o notification. Google/Amazon provide home devices cheap enough for every room (even devices for your TV and car) - with all data stored on THEIR severs. Google was born out of DARPA. Amazon had a $600 million contract with the CIA. If the microphones arent always listening - how do the devices “wake” with a wake word? Its not a coincidence why FB/Goog/Amz have no real competition. Controlled programs are pushed, and threats are suppressed or acquired. Did you think it was just a coincidence all the biggest “big tech” companies are aligned politically - when the same party they align with tells its voters they will target the richest 1%? Does that sound logical? Gov projects parading around as public/private companies free from congressional oversight and FOIA requests under covert control. (The same way military develops aircraft and tech through private companies). So - they have the infrastructure, networks, and capabilities to collect,catalog,store bulk data - and listen/watch in real time - to almost any present/future targets - and you think those assets are not used - because they “said so”? Would an intelligence agency be interested in such things? How do you insure any present/future targets can be spied on? Simple - you put the capability to look/listen in EVERYTHING. When’s the last time you owned a cell phone/tablet you could remove the battery from? Does simply turning them off stop tracking/looking/listening capabilities? Nope…. If you aren’t familiar with project Mockingbird- look it up. They “said” they stopped doing that too... Control of media = control of the narrative = “Look here, not here”…. Look up some of the declassified “false flag attacks” this country’s past leadership pondered on implementing.. If a central source had access to all your search history from GOOG+YT, all your shopping history from AMZ + music/movie/tv , all your family/friends/messages/opinions/comments from FB - where you go, when you go there, why you went there, the ability to listen/look covertly - and most importantly - who you vote for and if you vote - would that collective have the capability of building an accurate profile on you? On everyone? Again - Would an intelligence agency be interested in such things???? If they wanted that capability, created that capability, started using that capability - do you think they would just “let” members of Congress stop it?

Yeah, good point. To me this show seems like a prequel to Total Recall, where they actually had perfected the split personality experiment and was actually part of everyday society as "virtual vacations". Same with the game Call of Duty Black Ops in which you play a CIA agent that is secretly programmed to assassinate a specific target and toward the end of the game you find out that all your previous missions were given to you so you could get closer to the intended target which was a very hard to reach russian revolutionary. In this show we see the very early stages of a massive mind control program disguised as a "corporate office time removal" thing. But it is clear from the very beginning of the show that they are not there to do some casual office work, but are working on the Lumon black projects division which is conveniently placed in a small town. These people are there to be programable drones for all kinds of covert activities, if the project is successful and attracts a lot of customers. All of the scenes from the severed floor are very disturbing and are probably very similar to what programmed agents must have gone thorough in projects like MK Ultra and others. This show makes you think if they haven't already perfected this mind control/mind programming project decades ago... In the past few years i have learned how we are always programmed with various small mental programs from a young age through traumatic experiences, bad parenting actions, social programming from antourages, school indoctrination, religion indoctrination, media propaganda, professional programing and so on. All of these to make us simple docile slaves that would listen to authority figures and do specific tasks that we have been programmed with while not questioning the world we live in. It's pretty effective too, as i am having a hard time removing some of these programs now that i have become aware of them and i am working on myself almost every day to remove my traumas and programs when they appear to me. All of us have this issue and it is part of the mental programming that the control system has been working on for the past 200 years. Now many hidden truths are coming up to the surface and are showing us the world we live in...

The "Is Everyone Chipped?" idea has a lot more to unpack. The first few episodes strongly imply that the severance chip is activated based on location, something extremely unique to the facility. The reveal of the severed pregnant woman and "overtime" are that people can be activated/deactivated almost anywhere at anytime. The idea is that Cobel and Milchick are the same person inside and outside. But are they? Cobel/Selvig had two different stories about their mother's religious background. If one or both is a lie, it's an unnecessary one. I'm also thinking of Irv's outburst at Burt's retirement party where he calls out Milchick specifically for not being in their situation. But, what if he is? Cobel and Milchick have roles to play outside of the office that are similar or complementary to their roles inside. The severance of the employees is totally complete, but maybe theirs isn't? Maybe there's details of their lives that change as they go about their day. Maybe that's Cobel's obsession with how complete Mark's memory wipe is when he's inside and doesn't even recognize his wife.

The lack of security aka security theater is exactly like how airports operate in real life. They can't have people covering every door at all times, so they have to implement security theater in the form of cameras, "personnel only" signs, RFID required door locks, rotating security sweeps, etc. Prisons also operate on a similar basis. Most prisoners don't want to extend their prison sentence so they avoid escaping because it could lead to them dying or being locked up longer. Doesn't mean they are incapable of leaving.

Fun fact - Lumon’s building is actually the former Bell Labs, located in Holmdel NJ. (Recently renovated and re-opened as Bell Works, a housing and business development after sitting vacant for a long time). The water tower you see in the show was originally designed to symbolize a transistor - invented by Bells Labs. The inventions that came out of that building have transformed the world as we know it.

Huh... Two years ago, I interviewed for a company located there. Pretty trippy.

@@alexk3352 the cell phone or tablet you used to write that comment exists because of what came out of that building. It's probably one of the most iconic 'unkown' places in the country.

I love Devon and the brother sister relationship between her and Mark. I hope she’s a force for good in Season 2. I do worry about her preoccupation with money. That was a trait for her character in Season 1 and seems to explain why she ended up married to Rickon when they seem so different.

I truly appreciate your video. You pointed out many things that I had missed. Severance has been strangely extremely frightening, enticing, and highly addictive. I look forward to Season 2.

This is one deep dark rabbit hole it really was a blast to watch and the last episode tied some things into a bow and of course has us all waiting for season 2, Mark and Irving got alot of explaining to do when they wake up i rewatched Ep 2 Helly in the stair well and her interactions with Milcheck make a whole lot more sense now that we know who she is, it is rare for a who to surprise me anymore, and i look forward to your insights on the show in Future Videos thank you for covering this show, your insights are always a good watch,

When did it say Kier was in Pennsylvania? When they show the addresses on the list that Irving has the abbreviation for that state is not an existing state abbreviation. Unless i totally missed something…which is totally possible ha.

Not sure if anyone has commented on the medals at 5:00. The three medals on the left appear to be two Army Good Conduct Medals and an Army Achievement Medal (AAM). The AAM was not created until 1981. The medals on the right of the screen, starting from the left, is a World War II Occupation Medal, these were issue to soldiers stationed in Germany or Japan after the end of the war. The middle medal is the National Defense Service Medal for serving during a time of war, makes sense with the Occupation Medal. The medal on the right seems to be an Air Force Commendation Medal which wasn't created until 1958. This is interesting considering we know Irving's father served in the Navy. It is impossible for the two sets of medals to belong to the same service member considering the WWII service and the AAM not being created until 1981. The Air Force Achievement medal doesn't make a lot of sense with Irving's father having served in the Navy, unless he later changed branches to the Air Force. Which is not impossible, but most certainly rare.

This the best breakdown I’ve seen on this I watched the show in real time a couple years ago and with the season 2 announcement I started binging again today. A lot of questions or things I found interesting were not mentioned by other reviews but you noticed the same things I noticed and had theories based on each

This show is so underrated, why is it not popular?? I mean it's probably cause it's not on Netflix but damn that sucks
@nostalgicgirrl6053 Жыл бұрын
most probably because it’s only available on a kinda elite streaming platform. I only have it because i’m paying a discounted student membership of itunes that gets me the apple tv access.
@maxherman116 ай бұрын
It isn't on Netflix because it is produced by Apple, it will never be on another platform, also, trust me, it is VERY popular, it is ALL I see on comments for Apple TV+, I think it is their most popular show tbh

My theory is that Miss Casey is actually a clone. Here’s why. Mrs. Clobel told Milcheck to take her to the “training room” which to me, sounds like a place to teach and train clones basic human behaviors. Who’s to say that Gemma’s dna wasn’t stolen after she died by Lumen so they could create a clone. This would explain why Clobel is so fascinated with their interactions and why Miss Casey is so awkward and off when talking. She has a chip in her head like everyone else but she has no life outside of Lumen so they can just turn her off when she returns to the training room.

Amazing finale! Only addition to your video (great vid btw!) is that they're not in Pennsylvania (maybe a commenter already mentioned this) it's actually not an existing city/state (Kier, PE), which makes me theorize that it's some sort of "corporately run, experimental Eagen city" that houses the severed subjects which is why Irv and Mark living in "corporate housing." Irv's license plate in the show said “Remedium Hominibus” which is Latin for “Cure for Men." Hmm.....
@winexprt2 жыл бұрын
Exactly right. It's not set in Pennsylvania as the abbreviation for Pennsylvania is (PA), not (PE) as in the show. There is no state with that abbreviation . It's set in a fictitious place, somewhere in the North East based on the Zip Codes shown in the show,

This Severance series actually somehow seems eerily familiar to me on a personal level. Surely I cannot be the only one thinking and feeling this. Love the show!!! I also love the synopsis and perception etc. of (Think Story's) take on this. Quite insightful.

Great review as always, pointing out stuff that I missed - you have a sharp pair of eyes! I almost gave up on this series after 2 episodes because of the pace (and those corridors driving me crazy!) but the finale made it worthwhile for persisting with it. A very unique story line for sure.
