Yas, let's go! Severance will win the Emmy for Best Drama. People were talking about it on the red carpet more than HBO's Succession (another good show) which won Best Drama twice (S1 & S3). Love the high concept, casting, writing, production design, music, & title sequence. What a great first season. 17:47 Love this scene. Her line delivery was perfect. Immediately endeared me to the character.

@macarion Nah. Most other dramas are too procedural, soapy, or plain inconsistent to win. Succession won twice already and remains the favorite. BCS was never quite as good as Breaking Bad which it needed to be in order to win. Yellowjackets doesn't have the viewership or buzz. Ozark could take it, but the battle remains between established Succession (HBO) and the still surprising newcomer Severance (Apple).

Slight suggestion! Since Sean has already seen it, could he sit on the end instead of the middle? That way you got the two "newbies" (and their crucial reactions!) together, and the one who has already seen it can be next to them on the "sidelines". Maybe Sean on the left side of the screen (your right!), and Lewis and Nate sit in the middle. (I noticed my eye naturally drifts towards the reactors on the right side of the screen.) (Your left! Just a suggestion! 🙃 / What's hilarious about this is: I'm DYING to trade notes with Sean! Ha! But I can't, because I don't want to give spoilers! But their reaction to brother-in-law and their friends was priceless. I have things to say about them but I won't! (I took many attempts at that last sentence!). GREAT reaction and, also, the first time I'm watching multiple people watch it at once, which is fun! You guys are GREAT reactors!

What you do for work is significant, or not, depending on whether it's a job, or a career. A scientist has a career, a vocation -- it's part of who he is. Same for teachers, doctors, professional athletes, and thousands of other occupations which require dedication over time... The guy who served you your last Big Mac has a job. It has value, to a point, but it has little or nothing to do with the person doing it. Such a job does not identify "who" someone is. No judgement, for all we know, the guy who served you the burger is doing so until he graduates, and eventually becomes our fucking boss! lol. Great new series, hope you enjoy it, guys!

We just recently got Apple TV (because starting this Friday, 5/5, a new show is starting on there that just happens to be based on my absolute favorite book series- EEEE!!!). We were already subscribed to damn near everything, and seeing that one of the only streamers we’ve never gotten is Apple- yeah. 😕 After watching a few of their shows, including Severance obviously, I feel like i should be telling people that they are really missing out by sleeping on Atv+!

Ok, so I do have some comments after this episode. First of all, fuck this looks amazing! Cinematography is great, and the setting is INCREDIBLE! Literally everything in this office reminds me of the game "Control". The retro tech, the paranormal feel, the whole Macrodata Refinement thing, so good! Idk, it's a mix between Outer Range, Control and Tales from the Loop. The only thing putting me off is that he looks SO much like Tom Cruise ^^ 13:23 Holy shit, of course that's what happened... Thank you Nate... I just assumed it was something with the implant that made her see the hallway again ^^ And that whole conversation with the other people about the Severance thing was so fucking weird! I'm very hyped for the next episodes! Also, kind of an empty wall behind you there ^^

The empty wall is meant to reflect the minimalist aesthetic of the show. Also I cut it from this version, but in the full-length version Nate makes the comparison to Control as well :)

That dinner scene made me cringe both in a good (Mark) and bad (everyone else) way. I thought it was strange why the outside world seemed weirder than the place that Mark works at when he's severed. Adam Scott's hilarious reactions to that table of weirdos saved that scene for me.

YES! I just finished a great Severance reaction a few weeks ago and was jonesing for another one!!! I'm subscribing! This season just snowballs and snowballs. Don't worry: it's building to something, they're not just stringing you along. You'll see! I'm DYING to see the second season. They're filming it close to me and it's all I can do not go over there and find out what I can! (lol. Just kidding!). The guy who created this thing has the whole general story "mapped out" (ie: he's not just making it up episode to episode as they go along). He said he could wrap it up in two or three seasons.....or stretch it to 29! I don't know that we need 29 seasons but it's good to know that there is a master design, it helps me relax with it. (On the other hand, Breaking Bad was made up as they went along so.....the other method can work as well!)
