How about the pineapples being a reference to the pineal gland? And do you think the placement of the severance chip (near the pineal gland) means something bigger? Poor Dylan. I know this video analysis is about symbolism and hidden meaning but man, the glimpse of Dylan the family man, who fresh from his humiliating job interview is still thinking of his precious family, off to pick up baby wipeys before rolling home in the sad little minivan, kind of made my heart break a little. Especially when we know the brave and rather valiant side of him displayed by his innie, ready to sacrifice the finale of the waffle party and suffer the consequences of breaking into the security room to execute the overtime contingency and awake his friends on the outside. I think everyone is underestimating Dylan and I hope to see him be a more pivotal character as this season progresses.

@@possumwithacowboyhat5140 I mean he was being an asshole but his reaction wasn’t taboo. About "fetid moppet." I think there's a hint in the fact that Jame speaks in antiquated language. My theory is that Lumon CEOs have all been vessels for the consciousness of Kier, a man born in the 19th century for whom "fetid moppet" might be a perfectly normal thing to say. At the end of season one he tells Helly, thinking she is Helena, that she will be at his side at his "revolving." I think the "revolving" is where his--Keir's--consciousness will transferred to Helena's body so that Kier can remain at the head of the company. How this relates to the severed workers isn't clear. Maybe Helena's consciousness gets put into a different body? But I'm convinced that Kier has survived through his descendants.

I just discovered your channel this evening and I must say I am highly impressed by the depth of your deep dives. The Pineal Gland and pineapples have more in common than a couple of letters, however. Both are named for their resemblance to a pine cone ("pineas"). Réné Descartes called the pineal gland "the seat of the soul" but he was making stuff up. In reality, the pineal gland produces melatonin which you need in order to sleep. If you don't sleep, you start to go insane. I have no doubt that the severing procedue must make people feel like they aren't getting any sleep, so they'll probably go insane after a short time.

Pineapples were also a symbol of hospitality and welcome in 18th century England. This is why you see them in the architecture of rich people's homes in that time period (the architectural element is call a "bromeliad"). Of course the only reason you could get pineapples in England in the 18th century is because the English (or the East India Company) took over some tropical place and enslaved the population. So there's a connection of pineapples to slavery (forced labour) as well. God, I love this channel!!!

Interesting pineapple symbolism; Throughout its many journeys, it has come to symbolize welcome, luxury, and beauty, as well as fertility, war, and royalty. Although these symbolic meanings seem vastly different from each other, they all have one thing in common: the sweet fruit and beautiful symmetry of the pineapple; So if you were welcomed to someone’s house with a coveted pineapple, that is a sign that the host had pulled out all the stops and was offering you all they had to give; There are several reasons why a pineapple is a symbol for infertility. For one thing, bromelain is found extensively in pineapples, especially in the core; The way a pineapple fruit is arranged is also very symmetrical. The florets are beautifully aligned, and each side of the pineapple is symmetrical. Beyond being symmetrical, the floret arrangement is pure mathematical genius. It is so remarkable because the florets are arranged in a pattern or sequence where each consecutive number is the sum of the two that come before it; As an overt sign of welcome, pineapples appear on gates, buildings, on fence posts, and front porches. Throughout the world there are also pineapple shaped fountains, furniture, and various other pieces that bring a smile to the faces of those who see them; The pineapple has long been a symbol of royalty. Specifically, this symbolizes the divine right of kings, because of the crown shape; For several reasons, pineapples served as a symbol of war.

3:07 the breakfast question ties to the first set of questions when you wake up as an innie. Kind of multiple levels of memories that they’re testing for: - your name (oldest kind of knowledge) - where you were born (let’s say basic knowledge/memories) - kiers breakfast (very recent/ pre-op kind of memories) If you don’t know any of them means the procedure worked. All memories all up to the severance procedure have been blocked out of your innie. That’s why unknown is a passing grade, if they DO remember the breakfast thing(or their name, state) That means they have retained memories and was an issue. Mr milkshake saying the breakfast thing is probably some sort of protocol pre-op

Pineapple 🍍 is perfect choice by LUMON for one particular feature: it’s not a whole berry but a so-called multiple fruit because it develops from fusion of many fruit bearing flowers into a single berry. Each scale on its body represents a flower, there can be up to 100 of them. Pineapple in Severance symbolises what LUMON is trying to achieve: their goal is to unite humanity into a single common self, biological or digital singularity.

Loved the Holdor reference, both my son and I burst out laughing, neither one of us thought you were saying he was the same actor 🙄😵💫 We love this guy from True Detective and this epic scene: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nKrLlKxqlL2mhpYsi=ph8bYK3HoJxxKHPE

I was rewatching the episodes and I don't think Mr Drummond has anything to do with security. He is connected with the board somehow. Also listening to Mark w say if the security touched him it was another reason for him to sue makes me wonder what made 5x close. The mdr employees seem to be a problem across offices which is why they probably spread rumors about them. Your videos are very entertaining keep it up!

Constructive criticism: loved your commentary and some details you caught I didn't catch. Just would like to hear you talk a notch faster and a tad louder. It's not about the Colin as much as the pitch. Get some energy in your voice. I subbbed.
