Severance might be the one show where all the sub-plots are just as interesting as the main storyline. Maybe because it all tied to the main mystery of "WTH is Lumon?", but it makes every scene engaging.

To me, she often looks on the verge of tears. Like with milchek and the paintings it almost seemed to me that she was describing a traumatic event. It's also been discussed that in season 1 Milchek is aware that he's black (i.e. it has the same sociocultural relevance), so there might be something there too given it's a very white family and both of those two are not white.

It's probably the best option for Mark S/innie mark because a part of him will forever be etched into outtie marks memories and personality. They are basically combining into one person which is better than the possibility of innie mark eventually dying when outtie mark stops working at Lumon. I have a feeling that many thoughts and feelings will invade into outtie mark's personality, and mark will most likely have feelings for both Gemma and Helly as a result.

I’m expecting the integration to be less than perfect, and it needs to be early because of uncontrollable severance, sometimes innie sometimes outtie and how to cover it so as not to be discovered and awkward mid-conversation switching. You need room for that to breathe.

One argument that everyone had against my theory "Helena plotting against Lumen with Doctor Reghabi" was that no way she could reintegrate in so little time. Now that we know it is done very fast I am convinced she came back as reintegrated person.

the fact that they showed mark's reintegration this early in season2 shows that there is much more to the whole story than we know. considering we will also have season3 coming. also the creators are really carefull about the info they put out so i dont think theyve gven much info that will spoil the show Maybe, towards the end cobel realises that jame /hellena is kier so if she should take them down that means she is also taking kier down i think this season would mostly be cobel's story and milchik slowly tuning sides

Ostensibly Cobel had to have seen The Driver for at least a couple of minutes already. She didn't sneak that Rabbit into the parking lot between the time Helena came down the stairs and when Helena noticed her. The focus shift did indicate the driver freaked her out. But my take on it is that the Driver represented a force she couldn't take on her own. She was going into the Lion's Den without a weapon.

Perhaps I’m reading too much into it but I think the whole Natalie and Milchick scene was so incredibly layered with meaning and I’m really not sure how to interpret it even still. I think in some way she was confiding in Milchick that the paintings were inherently fucked. BUT in some way I feel as though she was also putting pressure on Milchick to conform? I’m not trying to go full tin-foil hat race politics here however they are both black but we can’t ignore the fact that she has much lighter skin, blue eyes, and blonde highlights in her hair. This personally makes her constant creepy smile seem much more insidious when directed at Milchick in that moment because although the board is “listening” they aren’t literally watching (I think lol) and she could’ve definitely given him a look of genuine understanding if that’s the intent of the scene; but she didn’t. She continued to smile. Idk, the fact that so much can be pulled from these performances and this scene speaks to the show being something really special; I’m excited to see where they take things next.

It's definitely Helly. Everything I see as clear evidence for it being her, the Twitter mob reads the other way. But I'm standing by it. Watching your clips here on Natalie, and her weird way of looking at people, has got me thinking that she's not just the mouthpiece for "The Board" but their eyes too. Specifically where she clocks around Milchick with her eyes directly on his face. Cuz The Board wanted to see his delight (i have a hard time deciding whether Milchick was moved or disgusted.) Ricken was just a goof last season. I didnt like him, but dismissed him. This scene was the first time I felt like punching him. He's going to be a problem. In that mocked up newspaper, they mentioned that Ricken Hale wrote a second novel that was solely for Innies. Looks like they're trying to make that happen. Helly already made her feelings known when she kissed Mark last season. "In case we don't come back...or in case we do?" She stepped forward. iMark is conflicted. He's a bit of a putz. There has never been a woman onscreen more ready to be kissed. She's letting him make HIS decision. She's made hers. This is Helly, thru and thru.

I think your last point is the main reason I think it’s Helena! 😂 It’s funny how different people can interpret things. But that’s what makes the discussions so fun. I really think Helly would have been the initiator again if it were her, I also think her touching and encouraging Irvin to go to O&D was Helena overcompensating. To me it feels kind of weird that this episode just allows the innies to roam the halls and no one is really concerned. Like it's good for progressing the story but. Usually you'd expect someone running after them if they ... say... climbed through a goat chute into another department ... or, went to OND. I get they're trying to reform and allow the innies to not feel restrained. But it's like ... this episode they literally don't work at all lol, that we see, at least. Well, Irving has the hall pass, so that'd excused. Supposing Helly is Helena, they're not worried about Mark since she can keep an eye on him, possibly. Who knows, maybe it's because Milchick was late to work.

But as an overall theme, i am seeing that each of the characters is experiencing relief. Dylan got to see his wife and feels some sort of closure about that. Irving got to speak with an old friend about the person he cherishes, Burt. And got some closure on the mysterious elevator. Outty Mark got the relief of finally getting an answer about Gemma. Inny Mark was freed of restraints and made some progress on finding out about Gemma, and also, the mysterious goat room. Helena, who seemed dreamy about getting to be around Mark, got to experience an intimate moment with him basically. So it's like, the four of them sort of caught a break this episode.

this was the best episode of the season so far, but things still feel a little off to me… and it all feels very rushed. Mark getting reintegrated is very interesting, but it could’ve been the season finale… of a third season… the Dylan storyline did seem rushed, too, just not as bad. I was surprised it seemed to be his actual wife, so, who knows? the Irving storyline seems appropriate. I can’t decide if Helly is Helly or Helena… like, why would Helena know where the goat department is? she’s weird for sure, but maybe it’s just Helly having a new identity crisis? the “Mammalians Nurturable” department (like “Accounts Receivable”) is too ridiculous. they tried too hard with that one. the Milchick bit was good. as was Ricken’s. and I don’t think Milchick was offended… he’s completely bought in, he’s just insecure… maybe he feels he doesn’t deserve the honor 🤷🏻‍♂️ in the very first episode of the series, outie Mark almost runs over Helena in the parking lot… she drives her own car, and didn’t have a very good parking spot… but now she has a chauffeur? plot hole, or did Helena get a promotion since then? also, I get the feeling the Lumon snacks are actually pretty good… the egg bar, for example. I know Helly says something like “wow, this is actually good,” but every other bit of food we see on the severed floor seems pretty yummy to me. I’d also like to see what they eat for lunch… they seem to have prepared lunches in the fridge, but are they all the same every day? different each day? customized for various dietary needs? who makes the lunches? I NEED ANSWERS.

Mark makes a lot of sense since of course he says he didn’t believe it on the last episode but of course he couldn’t be too sure so he asked selvig and her reaction (or non reaction) was telling and planted the seed, then the reintegration lady confirming it for him and him being so desperate so feel better in any way makes lots of sense for him to say yes so fast. He literally has nothing to lose. And Dylan I mean there’s something off about the wife I mean the board and milchick wouldn’t be doing this just for the good of their heart so. Also don’t know why you want them to drag out reintegration it’s even better that’s happening now so early than dragging it until the last episode

@ - I certainly believe Mark would make the choice he did, but bringing Reghabi back into the picture so soon just seemed… too soon. the show is called “Severance,” after all, and now the main character isn’t severed, and Helly might not be her regular severed self either 🤷🏻‍♂️ depending on how many seasons they hope to do, you’d really think they’d save the big reintegration arc for the finale season… I’m still interested, it just seems to me the plot is being rushed, especially when the first season had such a slow burn.

The future is the future plus not really worried about this season seeing how all reviews put it on the same if not better than the last season

@@chrisviolante1953 - reviewers don’t usually get entire seasons, so I’d take that with a grain of salt, but I’m sure it’s not bad, I just worry the show will get ahead of itself and won’t be able to stick the landing, which sadly happens to too many promising shows. one thing I thought the first season did poorly was how Mark Scout got over both Petey and Graner’s death seemingly so quickly, both emotionally and just curiosity-wise… he could’ve spent the majority of this season searching for Reghabi on the outside, uncovering more info about her, Lumon, and severance itself in the meantime…

I think Cobel was SA by Helena father when she was in the school and breathing tube belong to her daughter possibly premature due Cobel being so young . The reason I think that is due Cobel determination and deep sadness she’s got. And the way she was spooked by Helena’s bodyguard lead me to think that he was possibly the person to deal with her at some point and during all memories and child trauma. Look at the way they ZOOM IN the breathing tube in the car !!! In real life this breathing tube is very small INFANT SIZE!! Look at the size of the seat stitching.

Hmm. When Cobel breaks down after being fired she almost cradles that breathing tube like a baby. Perhaps Charlotte was/is her daughter; whether killed by Lumon or taken by Lumon.

I’ve kinda stopped expecting an actual review from these. They seem more like a glazed discussion, which tracks for this channel in general. I still wish this season came out sooner. After hearing Adam Scott during an interview say “just wait until the cliffhanger at the end of season two, you’re not going to be able to wait for season 3,” I lost a lot of desire to watch it. Bro I just waited 9 years for the second season, this is not how you win back my interest.
