I'm not one to get emotional from TV shows but this storyline got me. I have been in a similar situation of my life with a girl and I know his pain. One of my favorite moments was when he realized that he did love her and he told the men they have to stay away from her because she is precious. The actor portrayed that so well with the look on his own face of him having almost an epiphany of his feelings for her. Anyway great show well done

Totally agree. The actor's name is Chrstian Hillborg. He had a short appereance in the show but it was so good, unforgottable! One of my favorites.

Thank you for choosing this particular version of the mighty Metallicas' Nothing Else Matters 🎸👹 for Erik and Aethalflaeds' love story❤ as strikes the right emotional tones for their forbidden love, totally my favourite series out of TLK because of their Romeo/Juliette style ❤ storyline, which has me completely drawn in every time I watch it (which is often) to the point of tears in my eyes when Erik dies. Thanks to Millie and Christian for their acting skills and giving TLK fans a romance for all time. 😊❤❤❤❤❤😢

I love this video. I wanted Erik to live so badly, even from the beginning of season 2 I admired his character. He wasn't as impulsive and blood thirsty as some of the others and he actually had the capacity to care for others deeply. I wish he and Aethelflead (sorry not sure how to spell it) could have ended up together, even if it made for a less interesting story.

I still think Eric held back when Siegfried did not. I don't think Eric was expecting his own brother to kill him. The look on his face when Siegfried stabbed him says it all. He probably thought they would fight and he might subdue a long enough for them to escape, but I do not think he ever thought his own brother would kill him.

Another brilliant piece of art. It summarises their story in the best possible way. Especially Erik’s personality. Agreeing with another comment, I think that Erik probably didn’t really want to kill his brother and was more than shocked when he was stabbed by him. The expression on his face in that moment is so dramatic. You were already able to see that his character was completely different than Sigefrid’s when he was ready to give up everything just to safe him (when Uhtred wanted to kill him). He is a beautiful and heroic soul and deserved so much more. I hope Aethelflaed can live on without him. No doubt she’ll never forget him because he was the first man who loved her with all his heart. So much that he fought his very own brother. And yes I’m kinda addicted to their story. And to Erik. I’m sorry for spamming under your amazing videos! 😘

I loved this story line. It was completely unexpected and in that held so much more power than I believe the writers realized. Erik is this Pagan Northman, who has these lovely kind eyes. She is this unlikely beautiful Saxon princess and them falling in love made all those watching the show fall in love with them together. Their love story and because of what it represented to the pagans with the wealth she was worth and the destruction on Wessex..... I wish they would have played out this love story between Erik & Athaelred linger and made it even more in depth. They absolutely could of. I even thought of ways the writers could have. I am a writer myself, I am as they say a right brain person meaning I’m the artistic type. Since the age of 5 have been performing in all various different venues such as acting film, stage, even was a competitive figure skater for 14 years one level under Olympic eligibility. I paint, write poetry, write stories, screenplays, music....the point is, as someone with an artistic mind as well, I was able to imagine SO much more having been done with the love story of Erik and Athaelred (sorry if the spelling of her name is wrong). To the writers, I’m sorry but I wish you would have extended it and done more with it. but oh well. What’s done is done. But Thank you for at least putting as much of it in the one episode as you did, I think it’s safe to say all the fans LOVED IT!!! Something about their love, the two of them together in love was so magical. Again, thank you for including it at all!!!! I LOVE TLK!!!

@@ailenr.7407 Æthelflæd had one child, a girl. Sorry and all that. The daughter was deposed by her uncle, Edward of Wessex, and disappears from history. Read up on Æthelflæd after Alfred died. She became known as the "Lady of Mercia" and led armies against the Danes, driving them out of Mercia. She is, unfortunately, almost lost to history.

If he had been as portrayed in "The Last Kingdom" then perhaps good riddance; though by the look on his face when his wife killed Sigefrid he didn't try to beat her up or rape her again. Æðelflæd lead the Mercian Army and regained much of Mercia by the time she died prematurely in 918. Her daughter took the title of "Lady of the Mercians" but Edward, the son of Alfred had her deposed and she disappeared from history. It is uncertain according to historians whether she was murdered or immured in a convent. If you are interested, the bare bones of the story are at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%86lfwynn The historian Michael Wood fronted a TV series titled "King Alfred and the Anglo Saxons" which had a lot of detail of what is known of Æðelflæd and her daughter and I can recommend his book "In Search of England" though he is out of step with other historians re the site of the battle of Brunaburh.

Kind of a spoiler alert but not too much: Loved these two but after seeing Aethelflaed in Season 4, I’m starting to think Sigefrid may have been right. She was cold and hard, which reflects how she is in the book after Sword Song. Or maybe seeing her lover killed made her that way. IDK.
