This is such a great tip...taking the slower train to see better views and really experience Andalusia while getting from one city to the other

Another great video, thanks for taking the time and trouble to do them. I can't believe you don't get more views as your travel vlogs are easily up there with most others on KZbin. Some ideas for consideration... I particularly like UK trips; enjoyed the ride out, walk back series; out of the way rural destinations; maybe a Scottish islands ferry hop series? Thanks again

Thank you as ever for the nice words 👍 I'm back of to Scotland this month and was felling like going on one of the Clyde ferries, so your request comes at a very good time! I'm pleased you like the ride out, walk backs. Now spring is just around the corner I need to do some more.

Yes, it was beautiful. Somehow I think I prefer slow trains... But, then again, if I'd needed to be in Málaga for a work meeting, I might be taking a different view!

It did look a good route, and again a quality video. I notice you are taking on staff. This must be because you are approaching the 1000 subscriber mark. I am thinking that High Speed Rail is a bit like motorway travel or easy jet. Youi do it for the convenience not the experience. Imagine a London to Edinburgh trip that avoided Newcastle city and offered no glimpse of Durham Cathedral. I hope on your way back you recorded your easy jet experience for us, and waxed lyrical about the airports.

Yes, high speed is cool, but there's room for slow travel. I'm off to ride TGV in March, but have also got some excellent slow travel across Slovakia and France to come... ...oh and yes, easyJet is half-edited and will be on-screen in a week or two.

I enjoyed your video. Thank you for posting it. Please can I just make one constructive observation? I think that it is about 218km (circa 135 miles) from Seville SJ to Malaga MZ via Osuna. Not quite sure where you got the figure of 156km from. Thanks and best wishes, Andy
@JohnnyHooverTravels2 ай бұрын
@@Andrew-s7b5u yes i think i was wrong too. A quick check in the European timetable (i didn't have one at the time) reckons 236km My apologies for the mistake, though I'm pleased to hear to enjoyed the video regardless! 👍
@Andrew-s7b5u2 ай бұрын
@@JohnnyHooverTravels No worries and I'm sure your revised mileage is correct. I based my figure on the distance when I drive the route on the roughly parallel highway. I have subscribed to your channel - a first for me! I like the way that you explain a a bit about the history of the area you are travelling through. For example, the Arabic place names. I love trains but it's also interesting to see things in a wider context. Keep up the good work :)

I took this train last week, Sevilla to Malaga, turned up 90 minutes late in Sevilla and broke down before reaching Malaga. All passengers told to get off the train at Alora to wait 1 hour for a regional train to reach Malag, such fun 🙂

Being an old (and presumably non electrified) line, I find it quite fast (if the indications on the map showing between 120-160 km/h are correct) and longer travel time is probably due mainly to many stops on the route. However, 25€ for roughly 160 km isn't cheap.
@JohnnyHooverTravels Жыл бұрын
Yes, lots of stops made it slow. After my recent "fast but slow" trip in Slovakia I do think the Spanish ride was fine. I was a rookie traveller in Spain. I reckon there are probably better deals to be had 🤷♂️

I'm not quite sure what you mean. The reason I prefer the slow journey is that the journey itself is more beautiful, even if you arrive later than with the high speed train.
