My favourite feature so far in this gamemode is the ability to talk to characters while resting in between rounds and they have different lines! I was shocked and happy to listen to old characters like Thoma talk. Plus, if I can clear all rewards with Dehya as the DMG dealer for the last round, I'm sure most can with enough ubderstanding of the boons and sufficient build.

I love that aspect of the mode. In Spiral abyss, everything from environment to music seems so hostile, and it is always stressful to get those stars. In this, you complete a round, come out and play with friends, refresh and go in again. Love that!

(e.g. using pyro chars vs pyro slimes/shields, or venti vs ruin/large enemies is just asking for trouble) It has always been like that, people just make a topic about it to create content, venti is fine as he is (I have all anemo except wanderer and xiao, and still uses venti on monolith/liftable mobs mostly)

Right??!! I didn't do too bad on my first attempt, but missed out on the bonus objective by 1 enemy. Retrying it with Venti, it wasn't even a challenge; cleared with barely any damage to the monolith at all.

advice to new players: do NOT fomo. i understand that the primos are great for you especially if you are a new player. but this game mode are for people who actually pull for a wide range of characters and already have a good roster. it's not as hard as the spiral abyss, but it is also VERY restrictive. i am now concerned because i do not have as much geo characters... i only have zhongli built, and yeah, it doesn't look too good if they decide to do a geo character-focused theater

A small tip I can give for the new game mode is to not forget that you have the Traveler. He can change his element to anemo/electro for the current iteration of the Theater and can be used as a filler for the future elemental cast requirements too.

This mode forced me take my raiden off em build for the first time in ages because no hydro means no hyperbloom. I also feel like more energy recharge on characters in general is super useful because you are not going to have the perfect team comps or rotations. There were times I had xiangling with no bennett or beidou with no fischl.

TIP: For those wondering how to go around and prepare for Imaginarium Theater, I encourage you guys to build more supports and sub-dps (I.e., yelan, xingqiu, sucrose, etc.) They don't have to be strong but usable enough with level 8 talents or something. Your DPS will be sharing supports with other DPS so its easy to maintain which DPS/Drivers you want to use, but the supports and Sub-dps will be annoying because you will need to match the allowed element for this season and also synergize well enough with your given units available. For your runs itself, always prioritize getting Companion rewards or events, more units to play with = easier time. Whatever your points leftover get some buffs.

I think that this is going to be HELL for players who are super selective with their pulls and for new players.. Purely because they don't have enough characters built, not because the gamemode is hard itself, because the actual skillcheck isn't really that hard.. A gacha game where you don't need multiple team comps? Lol. Of course new players will have issues, considering it's a end game mode. I wasn't able to clear Abyss 12 for months until I had more characters. If you're "selective" and actively chose not to pull, then it sounds like a personal issue. You're meant to pull multiple characters as a F2P and horizontally invest, not vertically. You could get away with it before since there wasn't much need for more than two decent team comps, but players who have multiple team comps complained that they couldn't make full use of their entire roster, so we got a game mode where you can--and people are complaining about not having enough characters now? What a joke.

Funny enough, out of those three, dendro would probably have the hardest time when being played alone. Geo can brute force its way out, and with anemo you could swirl multiple elemental shields to amp your damage. But dendro does pretty much nothing without its secondy reactions unless they do something special like an arena that implicts the hydro state on the enemies

also another tip, focus on bringing more Sub DPS and supports rather than main carries, a "proper" team usually consists of 3 supports and 1 DPS anyways so you'll always end up spending 3 vigors on supports as opposed to the 1 vigor on DPS, the last thing u want is to be stuck on the final boss with 4 DPS all of which wants field time

I tried that and I ended up with teams with NO dps and all supports which didn't really work well (especially since we are restricted by elements. I could 100% make a hard hitting hyperbloom team with all healers, but dendro and hydro are not an option this season.) I'd recommend having a nice balance of both since, unless you are lucky with your cards you get 2 battles out of each unit max.

Doing Imaginarium theatre for the first time was pretty fun and somewhat challenging! I didnt know you dont have to get the stars so i suffered a little bit to get them with Trial Wanderer... I'm so glad i randomly got 1 Chevreuse from Standard. But also i'm far enough in the game that i levelled every character i have to 70/80 so i could get all acquaint fates, so- But its gonna be tough for me if some day the element restriction would be geo.

I think the difficulty feels surprisingly well balanced for the purpose. It's nowhere near as crazy with the blessings as Sim Uni is, it's mostly minor buffs really, the focus is much more on team selection and resource management by choosing which characters to use when and what to save for later. The fights themselves are quite varied in terms of objectives and enemies so different chars get their own chances to shine, even if they might not normally in Abyss. I got the most kills with Venti in my first hard mode clear, feels like I haven't seen that in the past 3 years of Abyss. Definitely feels like a great addition to the game, it's relatively simple all things considered but it puts the emphasis so much more on horizontal account building as well as player game knowledge in regards to team drafting. Almost the polar opposite of Abyss in that regard. I do think it's missing some sort of codex to keep track of all the information better though, HSR does a better job at that

As a level 60 player I have almost no Geo character(I only have Nigguang ,Noelle , and Yunjin) . I have 50 characters build but I just realized that I need to show some love to Geo which sucks cause I don't really like geo as a element . I will definitely build Nigguang and my Noelle needs some other artifact than the hunter set . which set will be good for her? It is time to check Sevy's Noelle build guide .

You can just run Gladiator on Noelle… Husk isn’t a big upgrade for most people because they usually have better Glad pieces

Personally I'm a bit concerned about this mode. I have felt choked on characters for a long time as a F2P player. After about a year of play, even if there were no elemental restrictions I cannot field 18 characters. I don't have enough weapons for even the low constellation 4 stars if I had them leveled. Never mind the amount of artifact investment C0 4 stars need to even begin functioning... Divergent Universe in Star Rail is similar with one big exception; if you own a character but they're under invested they auto sync up to trial levels. Was really hoping they'd do something like that here.

My thoughts exactly. If they were going to lock you out based off of how many characters you have built, they really should give more resources to ACTUALLY level the necessary elemental characters. I'm unable to get into normal because I have 12/14. Now, I have to grind out leylines (both exp and mora) AND boss material to lvl up more people. I simply don't have the resin to do that in a timely manner. I'm sure I can reach the 14 characters necessary (even if they are going to be hella weak), but I definitely can't reach the 18 necessary characters that are needed for the hard mode. We have a month, but the resin given is not enough.

Here's what I've noticed so far playing HSR + genshin. Half of the HSR endgame modes, aren't even really endgame. Like they're so godamn easy The more accurate term for them is something like just free wishes, BC it's not really a challenge it's legit just free currency Endgame is for players who have put alot of time and effort into game, it is quite literally for late game players. There is also an easy mode with 10 charas requirements, and if you do abyss that means you have at least 8 ppl built. What ppl need to realise is that if it's hard for you, it doesn't necessarily means it's a bad thing. Just do the easy level and invest until U can actually do the hard mode.

@had-sd4hs the thing is, it's "hard" in a bad way. It's not "hard" because it requires skill to beat. It's "hard" because we simply don't have the resources to build the characters necessary. And it's not like we can grind and level them and their weapons up, because the resin simply isn't there.

@@villa_art I don't agree with that??? It comes down to how you chose to spend ur resin, BC there is def enough resin even before the increase. And I can prove it as well. ☠️ I have almost all the four stars in the game, and I spent roughly two months leveling all of them up to 70 last year. And I spent the last two months leveling all my characters talents up to 2-6-8s so I am living proof we have enough resin 😂 I did this all in exams months BC artifact farming required too much brain presence 😅 The end of it is this, abyss tends to reward min-maxing more. So if you go and spend all ur resin perfecting Ur Hu Tao, U will get primos. Theatre rewards variety. So if you spend ur primos leveling ur characters instead, U will get primos. I don't think that's bad, BC if a person who has played even for a single year they can at least do easy mode. Just like abyss, you will need to build up Ur account to be able to clear theatre that is all. What I am mostly seeing is that ppl are upset BC they can't clear. But it's fine BC just BC U can't clear today doesn't mean you won't be able to clear in a month. Now that everyone knows that U need to invest more horizontally, simply spend a month doing that and hopefully U will be able to do next season of theatre. But I think it's unfair to say it is a bad end game just BC it does not favour the way you have spent ur resources in game.

​@@ricardorocha6622 its not that hard to get the rewards tho, with the trail characters (8 characters all used twice makes for 8 completed rounds) then you can get some from friends and some you have yourself. You dont need that many characters build. I did complete it with only having 4 characters build decently ( i can only clear up to floor 11 in spiral abyss with them)

I had high expectations of this gamemode, which were not met at all (gameplay-wise). Hoyo really takes every measure to keep their gameplay as tame as possible and stop players from having fun... The elemental restriction is a nice concept and I was looking forward to play new team comps, but while I have tons of characters built, only having a small selection to choose from at once and not being able to run less than 4 characters really ruined the fun for me. We should at least be able to build functioning teams every fight. At the same time, the boons were really negligible... Rogue like elements should always slap hard to spice up the gameplay imo, which wasn't the case here at all. Next time I will completely ignore those and just unlock as many characters as possible.

I dont think having the ability to build functional teams off the bat is a smart move. Really, the difficulty of the combat simply revolves around how well rounded your team is in the roles it consists of. The mode is stupidly easy if you have an established team or a team that has complete synergy. The weaker the synergies, the harder it is. The greater the synergies, the easier it is. Rather, I think the companion selection events should give us option between 3 characters rather than 2.

@@flamezforthegamez1056 Yeah, the combat should definitely be made harder in that case. And I agree that choosing from 3 characters would be one possibe improvement. I would also like to suggest something like working with character roles, so that characters can be distributed in a more organized way, like we select a role we need and then get a random character from that role. Anyway, imo being able to build a functional team should be a requirement, because it's the foundation for fun gameplay, and everything else should be balanced accordingly.

I got the impression that "building functional teams" is on the player. You choose whom to pick as your cast before you start, then you choose who to use and when with the team functionality in mind. The opening cast are all workable with each other, so then it's just a matter of unlocking more companions and "whom do I save for the boss fight and how do I make the rest work". (Disclaimer: I'm the person who actively enjoys fighting bosses with friendship teams and finding ways to make them work regardless of synergy, so I'm biased here)

@@whistlegirl5726 I made my initial comment atfer playing the gamemode just once and have now replayed it. This time I ignored boons and just got companions, making teambuilding less of an issue. However, Genshin combat requires pretty much no skill at all while teambuilding is the only part that has depth, so restricting that part of it at all is just cursed imo. I'd rather like to see something like an infinite abyss where every character can only be used once and then try to get as far as possible.

They should've done what they did in HSR Divergent universe by providing equipment/traces/levels to any character you own so you can use them. That would be fine. Making us invest resources into pretty much Every character (because seasons will change which elements are required) to do the "hard" mode is an intentional waste of time and resources to make players grind even more. That's not fun.

I was able to clear this with my less invested account BUT the Strat is really thinking ahead and reserving your best teams for the boss floors. I had to rewind once on that account because I wasn't thinking and used the wrong team on the prior floor. I was also using characters like Xinyan so It's doable on accounts that meet minimum requirements and have invested a little in their units.

I dread the day when Geo is an element requirement. I don't own Itto, Chiori and Navia so I didn't even raise my Gorou. I only have support 5 stars like Zhongli and Albedo and 4 star DPS like Ningguang and Noelle. And my friends aren't even active 😅

I had to reset the theater, because I never added more characters, and already used the rewind function, so I could no longer progress. I thought you would get a bigger score by not using the purple currency they gave, but not I notice it's more like the simulated universe currency, if you don't use it, it gets wasted, so use it as needed.

It's feasible to finish it even on mid build characters you just need to know when and what character to use on each act The only annoying part is the freaking protect the monolith where you need to beat all enemies in a given amount of time but when you defeat an enemy you will lose time 🤣

You don't need to kill all the enemies. You just need the time to run out with the monolith above the required percentage. That's why killing the enemies draws the stage to a close faster.

Very nice video, as always. My advice is to go for the buffs, because the characters they will give you one at the end of each level, and the buffs are very powerful. If you consider the level easy try to use the characters that you don't like. Son't worry about anything, just completing the level amd going to rhe next. Also the most important thing, try to bring supports and dps in a ratio 3 to 1, because otherwise you could find yourself in a situation to have to make a team with 2 or 3 or 4 main dps...

Did it on the first try I am playing since the start so this much was obvious, it is challenging to keep that vigor managed up, I recommend to other players take characters that are way more interchangeable rather than ones who just fit into one kind of team, I really like the fact that the buffs are present even for Abyss and the other stuff, honestly Ei and Arlecchino's dialogues we're kinda emotional 😢 made me tear up a little special Ei's. Honestly this is the best kind of End Game for Genshin, short enough to be done within few minutes but cute enough to melt your heart

I did have trouble in my 1st and 2nd try since I was confused with the mechanics. But I managed to complete all acts in my 3rd try. Just need 3-4 well built dps and the rest are decent build sub-dps. Overall impression, the new endgame mode is quite fun😊

@BRSxIgnition if you're fairly new then nobody expects to get into the new mode immediately and there's literally an easy mode that requires fewer characters, it's endgame so it's not going anywhere take your time with that, you aren't exactly pressured to finish it as a season is like 1 month, so no rush at all. Leveling up a bunch of characters I wasn't planning on using is cool, I like the idea and have a stockpile of resin to do it.. the hard part to me is actually getting enough halfway decent, leveled up artifacts. I started the game last year and just don't have a ton of spare artifacts and exp. Would have been a perfect time for them to have introduced actual loadout saves >.

Plan out teams for the final Bosses ( Dendro chicken, Vishaps , Coppelius ) Trial Arlechino is extremely good to save till act 7 and 8 early acts try to do with only 2 good/strongly built characters or 3 max so as to not waste vigor on all the strong chars Early on use points to get more characters later on u can go for boons

If not for the restrictive char selection for team building, the whole thing will be a joke... I had to clear first 7 Acts with random team comps and it always takes a min or so. But in the last Act against Icewind Suite, I managed to get Kaz, Raiden, Benny and XL. Finished in 20s.

I found it a nice change of pace from solely doing spiral abyss. And the difficulty being easier in compensation for the team building limitations was appreciated. But the amount of built character you need for it was a struggle. I’ve been playing for just under a year now and it forced me to level up 3 more characters and switch my traveler over to electro just to get to the amount of characters required. Going forward, will be spending most my resin on levelling other elements (instead of the usual arrogant domains) and instead start levelling my cryo and geo characters as I literally only have one built character in each of those 😳

I wish the special guest characters can be characters in your roster that is not part of the element rotations. Only one per element. There is 7 elements in total and three will be in rotation so it works out. This season I owned none of them which really sucks because I don’t have enough units for hard mode. I barely have any anemo units that I owned. But it can help offset the amount of characters built per element. I believe you need 6 characters built per element for consistency since elements are rotating each season.

It limits us to use wacky team lineups due to the limited elements and characters, and forces us to level up every character and build their artifacts and upgrade their talents. I have no problem to beat Hard mode and got 8 flowers in my first run, but I can see why my friends are struggling because they only have less than 20 characters ready to fight at any time.

My advice would be to save one decent team for the last boss, making sure all of those characters have at least 1 vigor. While it isn't a challenging fight with a good team, a 'random bullshit go team' won't beat it quickly or will require retries for a fast time. Early on or in normal battles is the best time to use the less functional teams to make space for the characters u do want to use later. This will apply more or less to your account depending on how well your chars are built, I'm sure some hyper-invested silly teams could still clear the last boss with a fast time. Also if they do up the difficulty of Imaginarium Theater over time like has happened with spiral abyss 😭this will apply a LOT more. Right now the last boss is only level 95, though I could easily see it being upped to 100 at some point later down the line, which would require a good well invested team.

Help me, Sevy - You're my only hope! Have you tried the new add-on domain in the Imaginarium Theater area? It just opened a few days ago. It is where you can earn those special "Envisioned Echos" or whatnots for your party members. You have to choose 1 out of 5 possible challenges to unlock. The reward is that special trailing effect for a particular character. I chose to unlock the Qiqi trial. There are 2 parts. I can get thru the 1st stage, but the second stage is defeating me! You can only have Qiqi & Fischl to fight a ruin guard. Seems simple enough, but the domain is constantly draining your HP. I keep losing Fischl! I'm so frustrated, and I'm hoping you might be interested in working up a guide or some advice on how to handle equipping characters, etc.

Never before have I been so glad to have leveled 24 characters to 90 and another 22 to 80 and geared half way decently. I am set for Imaginarium Threatre so clearing it this time was pretty easy and I had no idea what I was doing. I also didn't save my best characters until the end, so I made the last boss harder than it had to be and ran out of time a couple times.

I always told my friend that I needed something were I can use more Characters because I benched so many. As a 1.0 player you collect quite a few characters and build already different teamcomps you rarely use anymore because you 'only' need 2 teams to beat the Abyss. So I really like this. The only thing I dislike a litte is, that they only allow certain elements in the event. Almost every Team I have uses and needs Hydro xD My Alhaithaim is only build for Furina Teams.

This is really a fun new endgame content. I agree that the battles are not as difficult as Spiral Abyss, and RNG really comes into play with the boons you're able to get during the run. Overall, this is a good way to incentivize players to learn more about the different playable characters, and be more creative in team building. Looking forward to future guides from sevy!

Nah bro it’s just dumb , imagine rerolling for gruper in monolith defence, it’s not even hard it’s annoying, the teams you end up with are not even real teams and yes if you don’t have enought characters your cooked ( wtf is up with must have all 4 characters) imagine if hydro was there there is like only 3 4 stars characters in that element Barbara xingqiu Candice , and most people have only xingqiu build and rest are 5 stars you not ony need decent build characters but a lot of build characters and even if I don’t have problem with that people who are not playing since beginning are cooked again , and any f2p with not so much 5 stars. In my opinion this can’t be called endgame, even abyss is less luck and more skill dependent, and that is saying something.

Also you can always choose get new character at start when you can, and you will get full roaster pretty fast. Also even f2p get 5 star characters. To do floor 12 abyss it takes a while for f2p account as well.

Some people enjoy minmaxing that’s their main way of enjoying the game it was enought so far but now if they want to clear all endgame they can’t anymore and that’s why it sucks. Plus players build mostly for meta or characters they like and for this sh*t you need to pull even more and for characters you might not even like or that are not even that good like tf is that , that’s not even endgame that’s just a greasy greedy money grab with lowering abyss reset. What is even worse is that that little imaginary buff to specific trial characters that is active outside theatre means those greedy sons of bishes got cheap excuse to inflate abyss difficulty for players who don’t have those characters, or you might just get a buff but on your lvl 50 barbara. That’s just sad and I hope more people will see how down right predatory this system is.
