Sew a Simple Bandeau Chest Binder

Sky Cubacub from Rebirth Garments shows how to measure, pattern, cut, and sew their most popular garment, a simple bandeau chest binder.
A chest binder is a tight fitting garment that compresses the chest, typically worn by trans masculine folks, nonbinary folks, drag performers, and anyone who wants to minimize the prominence of breast tissue. Sky also discusses how the desire for one of these gender affirming garments as a teen led them to create Rebirth Garments!

I know this is a random question, but is there any sort of substitute I could use if I don't own spandex?

We definitely encourage you to explore and experiment with what you have! The benefit of spandex is its stretch/compression ability. (If you have Lycra or elastane, that's essentially equivalent to Spandex). Or if you can't access this fabric, repurposing a wrestling singlet, gymnastics leotard, or cycling wear could also work if you have those. You could perhaps use a less stretchy material and add elastic to it, mimicking the stretch/compression of spandex. Or sew in a fastener like a hook/eye, zipper, etc to help compress. But the measurements required will likely be different than what Sky suggests.
