Thank you so much for such a fun video. It combined 2 of my favorite things: travel and sewing. I learn something from every video you make and this was no exception. I may never get to Nice but it was fun to see how you planned the trip. Good idea about buying a hat on the trip. Makes for a good souvenir that will always be a reminder of a fun vacation. I look forward to seeing the next travel planning video.

This is such fun. I'm going to join in and look through my pattern and fabric stash for something suitable for the French Rivera ☺️

It was such fortuitous timing of this video since the French Riviera, particularly Menton, has been on my mind as a travel destination. I'm considering making The Sewing Revival's Classic Pant and Pattern Emporium's Coastal Side Split Skirt in linen for casual, chic travel wardrobe pieces. Thanks for the idea and book recommendation. I'll be headed over to your blog next for more inspiration.

This is so much fun! I live in England and I went to Nice last year in April with my husband and daughter. We went for 6 days and I packed, 3 tops, a skirt, a pair of jeans, a dress and 2 cardigans. Also, a pair of flats and a pair of trainers (sneakers). I took a scarf and a trench coat. We visited the Rothschild mansion which I highly recommend, Monaco and a lovely village called Eze which has a lovely soap and perfume factory. I highly recommend it and it was a really lovely choice for your first video 😊

Wonderful- what a perfect trip! Perfume factory is going on my list! Thanks so much for the recommendations!

It's called Fragonard. They give you a free tour of the factory 😊

My husband and I did a bit of a French road trip (by train) last summer. I bought some lovely jewellery at a market in Nice, and I did the same in Lyon (which we had visited for old times sake before heading to the Cote d'Azur). The train journey along the coast from Marseille is really lovely, and I really enjoyed Grasse and some of the villages in the hills that we visited during the week we spent in Grasse with my in-laws. This summer we're going to meet up with my in-laws in Tuscany, and we're going to fly into Naples a few days before we meet up with the family, so we can visit Pompeii and Herculaneum (we're huge history fans). We're actually planning on turning the journey home into a mini Inter rail trip, by travelling by train as far as we can before taking a ferry to cross the Gulf of Finland.

I do love a train trip! It’s my favorite way to travel. Your trip sounds amazing! We were originally heading to Naples and Pompeii next month but our trip had to be put on hold (hopefully next year) so those plans will be in next months video. Hope you have a fabulous trip this summer!

Thank you Rebecca. I am traveling in June, Rome will be my first stop, but Croatia is our destination. Your channel has been very inspirational and I am appreciative. The eyelet coverup would be on my make list, if time allows! Love this series.

What a fun idea! The eyelet looks perfect for a shirtdress. I have an eyelet button down shirt that I use a ton either as a shirt or as a little jacket over a sleeveless dress. That blue tone plus the Matisse images remind me of a dress in the latest Sezane collection. I would probably make a dress or separates that can be used as a dress. Maybe a skirt and a couple of different tops to create different looks?
@SewPomona6 ай бұрын
I'm definitely going to make a tunic with the eyelet- I think you're right and I'll get a lot of use out of it. Thanks for steering me to the newest Sezanne collection - lot's of great ideas there. I was thinking separates too. I have quite a bit of yardage so I should be able to create quite a few pieces to work together. Thanks so much!

This will be a very interesting series. You did so much research! Since this is an imaginary trip, you might as well stay and eat at all the BEST places!😂

Thanks, Rebecca. I really enjoyed this "trip." Maison Fauve, I Am, and Atelier Scammit are the only French pattern companies that I know which you mentioned. I like some of the other patterns you showed, so I will look into them. I look forward to your Italy "trip" next month. My son and his family were there earlier this year and just loved it!

I like your video. I wish they made better looking shoes for women. Why do tennis shoe have to be so bulky and ugly? I really like dresses and it's hard not feeling frumpy with the "comfortable shoes" they made now a days. I would like to travel again. Cheers, I hope you get to go back to France someday soon!

I wish! But no, my channel is a purely a hobby. I thought this would be a fun series showing how to style your handmade wardrobe for travel. In the second half of the video I show all my handmade garments and ideas for projects to sew.
