the greates innovations & essentials on sewing machines: the bernina stitch regulator, needle up/down, and the thread cutter are my top 3. I am months n months behind of not watching "GourmetQuilter." I have a lot of catching up to do😍. I can remember decades ago watching the late Nancy Zieman and her guest demonstrating "quilt as you go." 🎈

You are a very good sewing instructor, well detailed and explained the techniques to where one can understand it and follow you along.

Thank you so much for all the tips and details for the "quilt as you go" method. This gives me the opportunity to make each block unique as you demonstrated. I find this method of top stitching each block more relaxing, rather than struggling with the bulk and drag of a large quilt. Your videos are always encouraging and helpful.

I finished all the alternative blocks and will focus on the quilting this week. I love the idea of each block being quilted differently! So fun. Thanks so much for your guidance.

I have only done 1 other quilt as you go and it was such a pain adding sashing. Can't wait to give this way a try. Thank you so much Susan.

Loving this series! Being able to focus on one block at a time, quilt it easily and uniquely, and I love your joining technique! I've not seen that before, but I will use it. Thank you so much for sharing your skills and knowledge.♥️💐

Loving this series. Using black background and pastels for alternate colors. The alternate block is black background white star and dark gray with white dots for the chain. What color thread would you suggest for the quilting? Would prefer to use one color for all over quilting. Would black look ok over the pastel colors? Never made a black background quilt. Side note: purchased your doggie applique quilt pattern a while back. Haven't started it though. Thanks for the accompanied videos.

Thank you so much for your beautiful demonstrations and your fabulous talent! You are an excellent teacher. I'm loving this technique, but how would one make this work on a Queen and/or a King size quilt?

UGH, my deaf American Bulldog sat down on my foot petal and my Juke 1500 spm zoomed for a few minutes, rolling tons of thread in my bobbin area. UGH! Now, my machine is in the shop for 6 weeks! This series will be over before I get it back. Furthermore, there goes Christmas sewing gifts. My rescue dog is so precious- cant even yell at her- she is deaf! I will catch up one of these days😞

Oh no, so sorry to hear that - if you have some blocks made, perhaps you could hand quilt them while your machine is out of action?
