This is one of the best tutorials I’ve ever seen. No words just actions and text. Stunning job! Technique 5 is for me, I started a bunch of blocks diagonally but I didn’t see any backing fabric to them .. I just sewed the fabric strips to the batting… is it too late to add backing? Thank you so much for sharing your creativity and work with us!!! New subscriber here

And you did all that without a walking foot! May I ask which brand of batting you use?

I watch videos on my fire tablet and there is a dropdown panel that lets you adjust the playback speed. Search around d on your device maybe you can do the same. I play most videos at 1.25 so they go a little faster. Some presenters talk slowly to be easy to follow so sometimes I want to view faster than the speed that they record at.

@Denise11Schultz
@Denise11Schultz Жыл бұрын
@@deborahjacobs2265 If you see the settings gear icon, you can click it, go to playback speed and you have several options. When you’re done, you’ll need to set it back to normal speed, or the next video you watch will also be slow. I usually turn the volume all the way down when the speed is set to anything but normal. I love that she did all the words as banners, so that will work fine.

You can sew on muslin too instead of batting if you are wanting a huge quilt top to fit into a domestic washing machine. Don't want to take it to a laundromat to be washed for a summer quilt, this works fabulous. Muslin is much cheaper than batting if you're on a budget. You out did yourself once again with this video. Thanks for your amazing teaching skills and sharing this process. You blessed many of us and you need to know this.... Thanks again

I never knew there were so many techniques for doing this. I've been quilting for a few years and I am still learning new things almost every day. I've been hand quilting my quilts which can take a long time. But having them quilted is expensive. So, this idea could work for me as I wouldn't have to struggle with the weight of a full quilt while trying to work on it. Thank you for being generous with your skills. Great video.

I have always been a “sew the top, Sandwich, and then quilt” kind of girl. Does this “quilt as you go” technique lessen the structural integrity? I mean, if you pull the blanket to cover yourself or make a bed or what not, would the separate sections tend to weaken and come apart?

I can't say for sure if all techniques would be just a strong as quilting a full top.

This is thrilling to watch, and exactly what I was looking for. Thank you so much for all your work, on the sewing, the experimenting, and the filming and editing. You are so generous, thank you. P.S. My favorite technique is #5!!! With #7 a close tie. And Flying Confetti is my favorite quilt design. Will put your book in my budget. 🙏🌈✨
