I have to disagree…. Every pattern is the it pattern of 2024 ❤❤❤ the SOI team are smashing it and giving us all of the designs we want and need in our wardrobe with some lovely lovely details. Thank you for the best year in sewing so far xx

History of viscose would be interesting too! I wanna know who thought it would be a good idea to make fabric out of trees...

I think it’s something to do with developing a cheaper alternative fabric to silk but I can’t remember the details so I would also be interested in the history.

Thank you Rosie and Alma for the history lesson really enjoyed listening to you both - very interested when talking about siren suit makes lots of sense really when the need arose to get out quickly 😊❤

Super-interesting chat and suprised I didn't know the origins of the name, but now it seems really obvious. Every day's a school day! I love the androgynous look a jumpsuit can give and David Bowie in his Aladin Sane jumpsuit is such a great example 😍

I never realised I was such a jumpsuit person but thinking about it I’ve worn them since I was little!! The first was a blue one with proper big collars made by my mum, with an elasticated belt, the next was an orange one with buttons up the front and more recently was a black and white one for a friends wedding. Since I started sewing, I’ve made several pairs of dungarees, I guess very similar to a jumpsuit and so so comfortable ❤

I love the Camille pattern, it's so classy. I couldn't get my head round zip going all the way down my back though so did a side zip and a back zip. I wonder if could do some kind of elasticated back to make it a bit simpler

Did men’s longjohns predate jumpsuits? Same idea. I bought my first jumpsuit in the eighties it was yellow and matched my boyfriend’s MG sports car. I made my first jumpsuit in the nineties in a striped knit fabric. I still love jumpsuits.

I loooove jumpsuits!!! I find them comfortable and stylish plus you wear only one garment and you are good to go!!! I’m sick of constantly hearing the argument about the bathroom. Not a problem for me!!! I think the pros definitely outweigh the cons if there are any!!!
