Kate Morton, Homecoming is very good, not violent or gory, just a really good read. Thanks for the video, love the variety of things covered 😊

I've been sorting though all my scraps to start a scarf like yours its so beautiful!!! The court of thorns and roses series is alot more interesting after book 1, lots more character development and story happening. Fourth wing is also a good fantasy book, with romance and dragons. ❤❤

Stirling Castle was beautiful. Loved the February Box. Had to miss it unfortunately. 😢. Good idea with decorating the stitch marker boxes. I haven’t done any seed planting either. Not sure whether I’m going to go as mad as usual with the back garden this year as last year was so hot here and there always seems to be a hosepipe ban every summer too so watering all the pots up and down the garden is a bit of a nightmare. I have plenty of rose bushes and other perennials to add summer colour. Cosmos may be a must though. Thank you for such a lovely episode. X

Another lovely vlog Rachael, thank you. Stirling Castle was amazing, particularly the kitchen scenes - almost like real people! I enjoy reading very similar books to you but not constantly. I concur with other followers and I found that Lucinda Riley's books are hard to put down, I highly recommend them for audio as they are quite long. Also just listened to Sarah Ferguson's 'Her heart for a compass' which I thoroughly enjoyed and could hardly put down. You may enjoy Jeffrey Archer's 'Clifton Chronicles' and his Detective Warwick series, all very hard to put down. All highly recommended. (I had all of these through my local library audio Borrowbox.) Happy crafting and reading/listening. 😊

I recommend Elly Griffiths Dr Ruth Galloway mysteries - set in Norfolk . Jessie Burton The Muse. Lynda la Plant - Jane Tennison crime novels. Happy reading :-)

What an absolutely beautiful cemetery! Do most castles have them as I don't recall seeing one before. I find cemeteries to be very calming to my spirit.
@SewraymeUk11 ай бұрын
I’m not sure whether the cemetery is just next to the castle by coincidence and I haven’t been to other castles to know. I’d imagine there would be chapels within castles and most would have their own crypt but I’m just assuming here 🤷🏼♀️.

Hi Rachel. You might enjoy reading some of Tracy Chevalier books. Often based around fact. Remarkable Creatures - Mary Anning, a fossil hunter on the Jurassic Coast. The lady and the Unicorn is about the Belgium tapestry similar to the tapestry in Sterling castle and The Last Runaway based on the slave freedom seekers. I really enjoy her books

I think you would enjoy Anne Cleeves who writes Vera and Shetland.

Oh yes probably as I’ve been enjoying Shetland. Just one more series and I’ll be all caught up

I’ve read all of the Shetland and Vera books. They are great. Shetland is very different from the TV show. I love them both but like they’re two different things. Ann Cleeves has a newer series out as well with Detective Matthew Venn. Those are good too.

The castle looked amazing. I’m an avid reader and enjoy both audio and physical books. Some of the books that I found to be real page turners were Colleen Hoover “verity” and especially “Layla”. I loved Lisa Jewell “the house we grew up in” and many of Liane Moriarty books though I prefer to listen to those because the Australian accents are way better on audio books than in my head!
@SewraymeUk11 ай бұрын
Thank you. I had wondered about Lisa Jewell as a friend loves those. What genre would you say they are? I’m not sure if they’re thriller or just mystery kind of books?
@Making_Through_the_Seasons11 ай бұрын
They are usually family dynamic with some sort of suspense or mystery to be figured out. But nothing violent or crime like. It much more like an emotional mystery. I feel like I’m doing a terrible job explaining this!

Lovely fabrics. I recommend Clovers’ loop pressing bars to feed cords through bags, makes it a super quick process with no wrinkling of the fabric. There’s a hole/notch in one end you secure the cord to then pass the bar through the channel.

Maggie Sefton, Sally Goldenbaum, Peggy Earhart….also the Vampire Knitting Club mysteries are a fun, light read…by Nancy Warren.
